Addition by subtraction? Did her off field chirping actually hurt chemistry and lead to less eyes actually paying attention to them because of their subpar play on the field?

It was time to move on from the old guard, plus Emma Hayes is great.

She was locker room poison and well past her prime. I feel sorry for the players that had the misfortune of playing the last couple years with her.

She wielded way too much power in that locker room and I think it wore on all the players
Plus a lot of those players started to show their age
It was time to move the old guard out
USA has some really good young players that will be the foundation going forward and these players don’t need to hog the limelight like she did

Absolutely. Former players have said the environment became toxic, and younger players were basically intimidated into silence.

Every single woman on that podium today was singing the national anthem with their arms around each other. It must be a collective breath of fresh air to not have her around anymore.

Losing Meg Rap made the USWNT great again.

I don’t like LeBron. I don’t like these players who engage in domestic violence and other unlawful activities.

That being said, I don’t think there’s a single athlete in the last 20 years that I dislike more than Rapinoe.

Well its well documented Rapinoe took the best team in the world and diseased it from within to last years WC disaster....the team needed to purge all that bitterness, locker-room dysfunction and political ego-driven nonsense.

Last year's World Cup disaster helped in another way. The younger players learned that they have to work for success, and they have to be a team instead of 11 individuals.

Alex Morgan gets a pass from everyone because she's attractive but she had become a big problem as well though she was more of an on field issue

I legitimately want to see big Emma take a high-profile men's job.

Andinovski had some dogshit tactics though. Hated the way he set up his teams.

Agree, but she wasn't as much of a liability as Rap on the field.

Rapinoe was a massive liability on and off the field. They at least started limiting her minutes severely. Morgan was still starting up top.

Morgan will get a pass from most fans because she isn’t controversial. She is just playing worse and preventing a better player from taking her spot.

That’s on the coaching staff, imo and Hayes got it right. We have four great forwards and only three can play at a time. No need to add Morgan to the mix.

I can definitely see Rapinoe telling players that she expects them to say certain things (or not say certain things) in interviews, and I bet a lot of players deferred to her, which is bad for locker room morale.
