Gents,
I guess I'm officially old. I don't know what I need to look for in a tv anymore. Help me find the correct tv for my application.
Requirements:
65" - 75"
Will be covered, but outdoors
Will run youtube tv, disney +, HBO, etc apps
I dont what a shitty refresh rate (if that is still a thing) (best tv I own is an sony bravia LCD w/ 240 hz bought back in 2012)
Would prefer to spend less than $1000

Someone on here definitely knows more than me but I'd just go look at all of the 75" tvs for $500 and just pick which one you like best. Spending anywhere close to $1,000 on an outdoor tv seams a little overboard to me.

That’s kinda what I’m shooting for but left myself room and incase there is a reason to spend more

Biggest cheapest one you can find.
I got a Hisense 75” with Google TV on Black Friday for $399 from Sams.

Move this outside and get a $1,000 TV for inside.

I bought a Hisense A6 from Costco and a month ago I went to turn it on and got the vertical lines of death. I am going to try and return it this weekend and see how that goes. Dog chewed the remote to hell and back. I really liked it before it went kaput though

Buy a cheap TCL. They have Roku built in. All you need is a power cord.

I have had an upper middle range 50” Samsung on my back patio for 5 years. It was a few years old when I put it out there and had previously been in a spare bedroom at my old place.
It’s gotten a little mist blown on it when we get a huge storm with a lot of wind and I cover it with a garbage bag once a year and pressure wash the brick, so far it’s been rock solid. The day it quits I’ll trash it and get another. No use spending for an outdoor model and the picture is plenty good for outside. No use going crazy you’re going to crank the brightness etc.

75 inch TCL you get it for around 400 buck give or take. So not spend tons of money on a outsoor tv. They won’t last any longer. Just build you a box you can put it in and close up when the weather terrible or it’s not in use. It it gets damaged buy another. Better than 3 to 4000 for a outdoor tv that won’t last any longer

I'm with the "just buy a cheap TCL or Hisense TV.
You can get them with either Roku, Fire TV, or Google TV built in. I am kind of partial to Google TV.
This looks like a good deal.
Insignia - $379

We had this discussion not that long along. Simple answer is get the cheapest TV you can find. Set it as bright as possible. Expect to get 3-4 years out of it. A cover will help extend the life of the TV.

This is the correct and only answer for outdoors.
I have had a 32" outside since 2016 under the patio and never had an issue. Paid like $120 for it. I would have never expected to get this kind of performance and longevity out of such an inexpensive purchase.
I just built another outdoor section and I'm going to get another 65" TCL with the built in ROKU.

Buy a large cheap tv and put a Roku box on it.
