One of mine was catching baby turtles to be sold in pet stores. I could catch 100-125 a day and sell them for 35-50 cents a turtle to pet stores and laboratories. This was starting in 1967 when I was 10.

Started off paddling a pirouge then I bought a used six H.P. outboard motor for 35 dollars. I still have the motor and it still runs. I bought all of my hunting paraphernalia with my turtle and grass cutting money when I was a kid. It was a lot of fun.

Let’s hear y’all’s. Fun jobs past or present.

Covington country club golf course ponds, sold:
-red eared turtles and king snakes to the pet store
-rescued golf balls to the golfers on the fairways

the golf balls were the best gig we had. We’d bring a bucket of bleach water to the big pond by the river, wade in and find them with our feet, scoop them up and wash them in the bucket. $1.00/ball

I flew kites on Mackinac Island. That’s it. That was the job. Wake up every day, put up a kite show, chill on the beach and talk to people to try and get them to go to the toy store I was working for. Met a lot of interesting people from all over the world and got to relax all day long and get paid for it. Pretty sweet gig. Mackinac island is an interesting place, if you don’t know you should google it.

I worked in a movie theater when I was 16, got to watch as many movies as we want on days off and eat/drink all the popcorn and Coke, all of which is super awesome whenever you were 16 and there wasn’t shite else to do in town.

I met my wife there, and here I am approaching 50.

I made pretty good money doing that at age 14-15. We swam in the ponds and then got beer from a few club members in exchange for golf balls. Sold the rest.
The best money was the three times in one summer when some dumbasses threw their clubs in the water and paid me to go get them.

Ran a convenience store once and all the help wanted to shag me. I didn’t make shite for money, and have no physically desirable attributes, yet all the girls wanted it. Women love men that are in charge.

Played drums in a band.

Worked as a bartender at a wedding reception hall. Scored many a #’s there.

Sold Polo shirts at DH Holmes back in the summer of ‘84, I was 20 and didn’t have a care in the world..
