Could the Nissan brand be saved in the US?

Right now, Nissan has a fleet full of second rate products that sell to people who can't easily get credit. They are often sold by idiots, driven by fools, underinsured, and not maintained at all. They trail far behind their Japanese and American competitors on the used car market for that reason. These vehicles are frequently mechanically totaled well before 100,000 miles with broken transmissions and severe bodywork issues.
It's a massive fall from the Nissan of the 1990s - when their new products were considered sturdy and they were often a good used buy.
The "Big Altima Energy" meme fits the brand perfectly. These memes frequently feature a dangerously driven late model Altima that's poorly maintained with mismatched wheels, bumper cover flapping in the wind, and missing body panels.
Most semi-educated buyers avoid anything with Nissan's CVT, which is all but 2 of their mainstream products. Their variable compression engines are turning out to be just as problematic, and they've already propagated through most of Nissan's product line.
Since Nissan canceled production of their Titan truck, they have only two real products that appeal to younger, semi educated, employed people with good credit: The Nissan Z car (which sells in very low numbers) and the Nissan Frontier, which has already become the most outdated option in its class.
They've spent a lot of money on their electric vehicles, but have somehow been surpassed by not only Tesla, but also Geneal Motors and Hyundai. At this time, their EV offerings remain outdated and stale. Sales also are slowing down for all EV's.
Without full sized trucks and SUVs, how can Nissan realistically improve their brand, their dealers, and the type of audience they attract?

Unless they cancel all their crappy products and bring back the things that people liked, Nissan will eventually become what Mitsubishi was around 2000-2005.
I can't remember the last time I saw a Mitsubishi on the road. They used to be somewhat popular too.

Foolish. Instead of making the latest generation less ugly they pulled the plug. That was the only Nissan that middle aged people with gainful employment even halfway considered anymore.

I bought a Murano when they first came out. Loaded with every option. Actually a very nice car. It’s when the CVT also first started getting used. Sure enough, not long after it hit 100k miles it went out.

Id buy a frontier if i needed a smaller truck
Still uses a basic v6, simpler powertrain and cheaper than competitors
Unlike other trucks going to turbo charged stuff

Legit question because I'm ignorant about the industry in general.
Why is it that Nissan has such a poor reputation in America when most other Japanese car companies are respected?

And it's a good looking truck. Had they made a larger version of a Titan with the V8 they might could still be a player.

Frontier is great, the only negative I hear is that the fuel economy is very poor compared to the other trucks in its class.
Solid and long lasting and a good looking vehicle.

I see a lot of big Nissan SUVs on the road like the Armada.

Altimas are the best-selling vehicle in a bunch of different states, so I believe that Nissan will be okay.
It's impossible to ride around Atlanta for more than 30 minutes without almost being mowed down by a busted-arse Altima.

I loved my Xterra and would instantly look at them if they came back out.

I had a Pathfinder (back when they were actually a true 4WD SUV and not a minivan). Bought it new in 2001 and drove it for 12 years putting 190,000 miles on it. Very few problems other than it needed a valve job when I sold it. Loved that rig. Got me out of many muddy hunting fields.
That's all I got.

Frontier and Pathfinder are really good vehicles. No comment on the cars.
