"I watched Drake Maye in college," Holley explained, as shared by Sean Savage of the New York Post. "I loved him in college. You guys know that. He was a tremendous college player. At times in North Carolina, people compared him to Justin Herbert, I said, 'I can see that.' People compared him to Josh Allen. I can see that at North Carolina. Today, in Foxborough, you know who I saw? The ghost of Mac Jones. I saw the ghost of Mac Jones."

Except he has two years of production and better tools than Trubisky.

This is premature, but Maye had the most "unknowns" about him than any of the other elite QB prospects this year.

I see way more Daniel Jones than Mac Jones in Maye

Let it play out. Maybe get a preseason game in before labeling him a bust. Though it is funny that all during last college football season many here swore he was the clearly the best QB that would be in the draft.

Has always seemed like a potential Sam Darnold to me.

But I think Darnold could have been a serviceable starter with the right coach. Going to the Jets was a career death sentence

Determining the trajectory of someone's career based on how they look in their first pro camp.

Never change, MSB. Never change

These reports are always dumb. Remember when Jamar chase was struggling with getting separation?

Outside of the Olympics, not much going on in the sports world.

I thought the issue with Chase early on was he had the drops.
Didn't C.J. Stroud have a rough couple of camp outings last season?

Perhaps it’s the culture (or lack of) of offense and specifically the QB position that is entrenched in and is the problem in New England. Specifically for the development of young QBs. It may have been that Brady was just so great that he was able to overcome it, or that he was the unicorn that both elevated and was elevated by it.

Regardless, way too early to give up on Maye, but Kraft may have missed a chance to do a complete reset by hiring a young offensive minded HC instead of going in-house with a guy who’s likely to just continue doing things very similarly to the way Belicheck did.

For as great as Belichick was at a lot of things, he was horrid at scouting WRs. Repeated draft misses at WR is the real issue there and was a huge, unspoken part of Mac Jones not working out.

Trollin Vollin back at it. Volin is like the local version of skip bayless

He had a rough 2 days at the start of the week but had two strong practices to end the week, looked like the best QB today, but he’s raw and young so he’ll likely start the season as a backup and take over within a month or two. I wouldn’t put him out there until they feel good that the line can hold up, the tackle spot still feels shaky

I like Maye.

I think it's way too soon to say he's going to be a bust.

Coming from UNC, I think it's reasonable to see him struggle at first.

Encouraging early results from the WR group in camp so far

Tyquan added a bunch of weight and has actually looked like a NFL player out there. Boutte has made a lot of plays, Demario Douglas actually showed a lot last season and will be a slot weapon if he can stay healthy

Polk and Javan Baker have been really good and gotten a ton of first team run. Baker has been uncoverable out there from what the public / reporters have seen. Polk will likely be the top security blanket by the end of the year and they seem to be planning to have him a part of the top unit right away. By all accounts a lot more down the field success in the early practices compared to the last few years

I don't think he's comparable to either of those guys. I see him as a poor man's Josh Allen. Big, physical runner with a big arm. He's just not nearly as good as Allen.
