I don’t use these because generally I’m not good enough and they’re too pricy for me. Also I’m still a novice so the benefit isn’t there and the risk of losing them is too great. I have a few packs of them that I’ve been gifted so I probably have like 2 dozen of them in my bag I never use.

I’ve gotten consistent enough that I’m knocking on the door of 100 and have mostly stopped losing golf balls except the occasional errant shot every couple of rounds.

I’ve turned my bag over recently and gotten some vokeys for wedges. Previously everything I had was used and 20+ years old. They new vokeys less than a month old for reference. I figured I’d play with a V1 yesterday and see how it went.

There was a massive difference on wedge shots and spin. I have never in my life been able to make the golf ball stick and roll backwards on chip and wedge shots before. Just with changing the ball, I did it on multiple holes yesterday.

Not going to start playing with them exclusively again due to cost, but it was very cool to actually see them have a tangible impact.

We were all wondering if it was a good golf ball.

I do think newer golfers under appreciate the difference a good golf ball makes. I do for sure, makes a big difference playing a fresh V1 vs something I found in the woods

It always great when you can experience something new on the course and it sure helps the confidence level.

I totally understand that the ProV1 is a large price hurdle to get over.

Now that you understand what a premium ball can do for you, check out the Maxfli Tour offerings, they run some great deals.

You can also check out Vice and the Snell top ball offerings.

Golf is a amazing sport that no two rounds are ever the same. It can be very rewarding and maddening at the same time.

Try the Srixon Q Star Tour.

If you're "knocking on the door of 100" you won't notice a huge drop off but will save $25 a dozen.

That's pretty much like saying water is wet, but I'm not going to hate on you because I'm sure I felt the same the first time I played one. I was a freshman in high school when the ProV came out and was too broke to play one even though I was good enough to benefit from one. I remember being pumped when I got some Strata's.

If you're not wanting to spend that much money on a regular basis buying ProV's, in the mean time the Maxfli Tour ball, You can get the 48 pack for $110 and as far as a lower tier price range it has some similar performance to the ProV.

Now, try the -ProV1x. Has a little less spin than ProV1 & a lot more distance.

Sure it wasn't the new Vokeys putting the spin on the ball???

This. It's the only part of the game you use on every shot.

Chrome Soft is probably one of the best all around balls for a starter. Forgiving and straight.

Imma AVX/TP5X guy but got much better using the Chrome Soft

If you are worried about the cost of prov1’s you can buy them used. I buy buckets of 96. You can get different grades depending on how much you want to pay. Lots of websites now but I’ve been buying from lostgolfballs.com for 15 years.

And you are the only golfer to shoot 100 that rarely looses balls that I have ever heard of lol.

I’ve gotten it down to about 1 or so every few rounds. Our course has little water. The worst is some wooded areas but I’ve gotten a lot better with not shanking the crap out of it especially on those holes.

My problem right now is more getting good distance off my drive and not chunking my irons. I’ve done a lot to help my slice.

Also playing the same course over and over helps me know where not to miss and all the places the ball can hide.

I’d probably lose more if I was playing different courses regularly.

Interesting, I normally play the white ProV1x .

But I always keep a sleeve of yellow balls in my bag for visibility or deep rough.

After the front nine yesterday, the rough was high and the dust haze was awful.

The yellow balls were the regular ProV1. What a difference in my ball flight (lower) and the ProV1 was shorter for me. It was very noticeable with the driver and irons.

I know it's the spin rates and not the colors, but the results were very interesting.

With my wedges, they were the same it seemed.

I will be sticking with the X model.

What is the control you are comparing it to? There are multiple quality golf balls..I’ve experienced good results from Maxfli Tour and Bridgestone Tour

The MTB-X was a pretty good ball, but MyGolfSpy is slamming the new balls.
