If tweet fails to load, click here. That’s a good deal for Cleveland and Allen both

That's a lot of fricking money for Jarrett Allen imo

At least the endless Jarrett Allen trade rumors can stop.

26.2 million a year average over the 5 years is not bad at all for him IMO.

LOL, every day BI's value gets lower and lower

But it makes him even less of a fit with the Pels. They either need to convert a max wing to a unicorn big, or go with a center by committee. Allen fits neither paradigm and was always going to complicate roster construction IMO.
The question now is do they go for Kessler or try to relive the Ajinca/Stiemsma glory days?

Kessler and Collins for Ingram is really the only deal left that could be potentially had IMO. I still think it's an asinine proposition to have Ingram go into camp without an extension. He won't get the max and his camp won't budge on that.

You are better off giving BI 30m a year and having fun.
Competing for a title is kinda off the table to a degree. Unless for some reason KAT or the equivalent becomes available.
I dont think Kessler/Collins does anything to move the needle.

We gonna get murdered in the paint. Run it back without a a legit center, bold strategy Griff

This is what I have been saying.
What was his actual plan b?

His job security is why. He knows he can win 40-45 games with this squad, lose in the play in and have no repercussions.
No sane GM that is worried about their job would go into the season with our center rotation.

If i've learned anything over the last 5 years it's that Ingram doesn't move the needle so I'd rather have the guys that actually fit our team

quote:Maybe not. However, it does give the Pels serviceable players that fit financially better than BI would on a max extension. Alternatively, they are to have instead of letting BI walk for nothing after the season. Griff has painted himself into a corner.

This team will go as far as Zion takes it. Murray/Kessler/Collins fit better with Zion than Ingram/JV. I do feel a little thin at 3 & D wing depth, but people saying the Pels can't contend don't believe Zion can be an MVP level player. He can be, we've seen it. Can he sustain it is the question.

Exactly and this is Griffin’s problem. The inability to accept sunk cost on BI and move on. I think it was Zach Lowe who stated himself hes never seen a situation like ours where we have no center and we’re holding onto BI without an extension. Sometimes you accept defeat and move on.

Ingram did more damage than Griff did. IMO Ingram has been a problem for a while. Griff not trading him is more so Ingram’s fault than anyone’s. The man’s game is like a black hole and his pouting on the sideline along with his insane contract demands makes him untradable. This Kessler trade everyone keeps bringing up is assuming Ainge wants Ingram? He isn’t that stupid. Ingram’s value will have to raise by his play early in the year. He killed is own value

No its really not. Griff not trading him is soley due to Griff not Ingram. He controls whether he wants to trade him or not.
