Trump is +2 right now based on Harris being a "hypothetical." If she is the actual nominee, I bet there will be a small bump. After the DNC goes all in with #TheFutureisFemale, #BlackGirlMagic and #Abortion, Kamala will take a lead and the cheat will be activated.

In addition to not being a hypothetical anymore, there are a few other things she has that are normally "bump" events for polling.
1 - She has her VP selection.
2 - She has the Democratic convention on August 13th.
Trump is past those events on his side.

Unbelievable that the most unqualified person ever running for US President is assuming the most powerful position in the world.

Kamala has a worse average unfavorable rating than Biden and fairly far behind Trump. RealClearPolitics has Trump with an average 42.8% favorability and a -10.9% spread. Harris is at 38.1% favorable and a -14.2% spread. Biden was at 39.1% and -17.5% spread.

I've told this story before. My wife and I have a couple friend. Ultra conservative, Christian, gun loving. She told us in 2020 that she "voted for Trump but it was hard because she wants to see a woman in the White House."

While it's fair to say Harris would suck as President, it's not accurate to say she's unqualified. Her qualifications are solid, the question is if she would actually perform the job well.
7 years as a District Attorney in a large city
6 years as an Attorney General in a large state.
4 years as a Senator.
4 years as a VP.
In terms of qualifications, that's pretty solid as far as Presidential Candidates are concerned.

The main message being sent out in the last 24 hours has been:
"The polls indicate that voters see the economy as the main issue. Biden was burdened with that. Kamala is a fresh, clean candidate with no connection to the economy."
If there is a debate between Trump and Kamala she will use that. Every time Trump mentions inflation Kamala can dismiss it. She will have a much tougher time dismissing the border, which is the 2nd biggest issue with voters.

I would add that a head-to-head poll of Trump and Harris, or any Democrat, isn't the correct way to look at the race either. We know there will be 5 candidates. Trump, the Dem, RFK Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein.
The 3 minor candidates all will pull votes with RFK getting the most. The two 5-way polls, including one last week before the convenion, has Trump +5 on Harris.

Qualifications are about what jobs you've had before, not how you got them.
This isn't touting anything about her. It's a fact she's got a strong list of qualifications to seek the Presidency. More than what Obama had when he ran (7 years in state senate, 4 years in US senate)
