Was the ladder placed there ahead of time and if so, why did security not remove it prior to the event starting?
Did he carry a ladder and rifle to the roof in full view of everyone?
I don’t have any idea how someone could either place a ladder ahead of time or carry one, and a rifle, in front of cops and secret service officers to a roof overlooking a presidential candidate speech.
Anyone have any insight on this?

I assumed it was a permanent one mounted to the building, but assumptions and all that jazz. Was it a movable ladder?

We accidentally allowed it on purpose.

- secret service and local LEOs

But let’s focus on the real problem, white men with access to guns.

- the view

red head guy right after it happened told BBC he bear climbed up the building

no mention of a ladder

cops had to play cheerleader to get a guy close enough to see him

ladder came into play later; likely from LE/SS to get to the roof to check out the recently departed.

what i want to know is how that $12k rifle was hidden away. did the SS not set up any surveillance video cameras in the days leading up to the rally?

i'm going to answer my own question here with NO, no they didnt.

I imagine that factory already had a ladder for access to the roof

i'll have to go find the links but 'sauces' say this was a serious AR build..designed for sniping and about a 12k build-out.

there's one fuzzy shot of the rifle on the roof and it does look pretty well equipped; not a $500 ruger AR special with no mods.

Doubt it. Scoped looks like red dot. Why red dot a 12k rifle?

The cop would've had to call in this aggravated assault at that point right?

The ladder must have been stashed near the rifle.... Both very close to where he accessed the roof.
As you stated, he didn't walk around with the rifle and ladder searching for the best spot to take a shot!!!!
There's no reasonable explanation for this. None. Which makes someone in the SS look less like incompetence and more like being complicit.

If a permanent ladder, you put your own Service guy on that roof.

No frick that. Ladder or not, why didn’t they have a guy on that roof?

All the cop had to do was tell them a dude with a gun is on a roof, get the President off the stage....

Of course, that was failure #194 into the event....first failure was lack of shutting that building down at all.

It had no optics. I'd like more info on this gun. AR "Style" could be many things. Standard 16" barrels are not the best choice to assassinate a president.

He got hosed if he spent 12k on this gun . I have a friend that does competition shooting with AR's and he laughed at that price.

I thought the red hair guy the BBC interviewed said the "bear crawled" across the roof.

You think Daddy spent 12K on the rifle?

They already know where the rifle was bought and exactly what was sold ....

All the cop had to do was FIRE THREE SHOTS IN THE AIR IN RAPID SUCCESSION, the universal signal for duress that requires zero telecommunications equipment.

It really was just that simple. Shots fired at such an event could only be interpreted as danger.
