PAC-12 Will Maintain Its Bowl Ties

The Pac-12's existing bowl game agreements will continue through the 2025 season despite the league's breakup, the conference announced Friday.
Among other things, it means that Oregon State and Washington State, the two remaining Pac-12 schools after the conference collapsed in realignment last summer, will retain their postseason opportunities.
The Pac-12 said each of the league's bowl partners will "continue its agreed upon selection process" among both current and former teams. The conference previously signed six-year bowl agreements that run through 2025.
The league has worked with the ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten conferences on the agreements for the Holiday Bowl, Independence Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, LA Bowl, Sun Bowl, Alamo Bowl and the ESPN bowl pool.
I'm not sure what this means? Oregon, UW, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, and the Zona schools are all in the mix for these bowls still? What the frick is happening? Is it just the PAC-2 that are eligible and have first choice?
I'm picking Wazzu for the Holiday, LA, and Sun Bowl, and I think Oregon St. will make it to the Independence, Las Vegas, and Alamo Bowls.
edit: forgot Colorado and Utah

They're going to have to completely rethink bowls with conferences the way they are. Maybe organize by tiers, rotate, and make it an open draft
ETA: Former Pac12 teams will continue to compete for the previous Pac12 bowl slots, which is going to be awkward considering some will likely be playing their fellow conference members

There are a pair of bowl games that were PAC vs Big 12 (Alamo and Independence) and a pair of PAC vs ACC (Holiday and Sun).
Shouldn't be too hard to avoid regular season rematches. Alamo and Independence have all of the PAC teams that went to the Big Ten or ACC to choose from. Holiday and Sun have all the PAC teams that went to the Big 12 or Big 10

The Pac-12 is dead.
As are all of its bowl tie-ins.

Wazzu's schedule is so bizarre and well....sub-par.
The traditional season ending Apple Cup is being played on September 14th.
Portland State
Texas Tech
Apple Cup
San Jose State
Boise State
Fresno State
Hawaii
San Diego State
Utah State
New Mexico
Oregon State
Wyoming
Wazzu cornering the market on State schools.

Why not end the season with Oregon State? That seems really stupid

So what for one year?
They will kick them to the curb after the ratings come in after the contact expires.

So with PAC-12 gone and only 4 “power conferences” remaining and a new playoff system with 4 byes,
Does this mean the Big 10, Big 12, SEC and ACC champs automatically get a top 4 seed and bye in the playoffs or is it still a playoff committee selecting the best teams?
In other words if Duke upsets FSU in the ACC championship do they get a top 4 seed and bye, or does Duke get the #11 seed and the #12 seed goes to a group of 6 champion like Tulane?

Iirc, it’s the four “highest rated conference champions” that get the bye and not necessarily the four P4 champs.
Using your scenario let’s say Duke loses three OOC games but is undefeated in the ACC, and they win the championship game. They’re 15th in the final playoff committee rankings Say Tulane wins the AAC and is ranked #13. (Let’s assume the SEC, B10 and B12 champs all rank in the top 6). Tulane would get in as the #4 seed. Duke would be in the playoffs as the fifth highest rated conference champ - and I believe would be the 12th seed in this case.

Correct, and while it seems dumb I think the reasoning behind this is the conferences want their championship games to mean something. If not the SEC championship game participants every year would just mail it in

College football is getting staler and staler every year.

No, I've been reading up on this. The old PAC 12 bowl tie ins are still alive, and will be used by the old PAC 12 teams, sans the Rose Bowl of course. The old PAC 12 teams will not be able to participate in their new conference bowl tie ins until the old PAC 12 ones expire after 2026.

Wazzu and Oregon St joined the WCC with Gonzaga, St. Mary's, USF, etc for all other sports. In football they have a deal with the MWC to play x amount of games vs other members of their conference.kinda like Notre Dame has with the ACC. I don't know why they don't just become full members. They could call it the PAC West or something.
