The answer is Nuss.

Against Georgia in the SEC championship game.

Let’s give some context. We were down 35-10, no choice but to put the ball in the air. Furthermore, UGA let off the gas a bit with such a big lead.
That being said, it was an indication of Nuss’ potential. It will be fun to watch what he can do as the prime time starter.

Likely was playing against Georgia’s second and third string players.

The fact remains. I mean LSU was never down by a lot throwing it all over prior to this game in any year at any time

Also, Nuss made some, let's just say extremely risky and unlikely to work, throws and had outlier luck to complete a bunch of them.

I know people want to be optimistic, but the 2nd half against UGA is a bad example under even the slightest of scrutiny/analysis.

Yeah. I don’t understand why everyone keeps screaming and pointing at that one half of football.

If Georgia didn’t want to be in the LSU record book, they should have played better.

Still probably better than most teams first string if we’re being honest

Joe Burrow threw 7 tds and 403yds in the first half against Oklahoma.
I like Nuss 100% and I am hopeful, but Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels did shite that you only see in video games.
Honestly, more than anything,LSU is in a good spot.If lsu didn't shite the bed as far as qb's and clock mgmt go for a decade under les miles. Saban would have a cpl titles at bama.Les would have 3 nattys. And bama fans would openly say "bear is rollin in his grave while we roll in the bed with our sisters"

This is actually not true. Burrow threw for 403 yds in the first half in the CFP against OU. Thats more than what Nuss did in the second half against Georgia.

Stating something as fact does not actually make it a fact. SMH

There is no way he threw for more yards than Burrow did in the first half against Oklahoma in 2019.

you do realize the offense won't be nearly as good as it was last season, right?

The offense may be as good as last year but in a different way. We will see. But yes our QB won't be running 50 yds for a TD. Hopefully that will be a RB this year.

Won'tbe as good? I agree.

Won't be good? I disagree with.

I realize we are replacing a lot of skill players but we will have one of, if not the best OL in the country and while we are replacing a Heisman winner at QB, Nuss is about as proven a replacement as you can get without signing a successful starter from the portal. WR will definitely be a downgrade but Lacey and Co are not slouches and the RB will be better than last imo because Kaleb Jackson is ready to eat.

LSU fans need to learn the lessons of our optimism from a backup QB coming into the game in the second half, and leading us to victory or almost leading us there. Brandon Harris against MSU in 2014. Anthony Jennings against Arkansas in 2013. These guys were gonna be the saviors of LSU football, according to our fans, and we all know what happened.
