I’ve been carrying a Glock 17 with an Alien Gear IWB holster since 2016, but I’ve gotten tired of lugging that behemoth around especially in the summer. I’m a slim build so the weight has never been comfortable even though it hides superbly well given the size.
Anyway, I’m looking for something small in the price range of a G43, and I want 9mm.
Thanks you.

I’ve been carrying a smith and Wesson shield for 10 years I believe, just swapped to the plus a couple years ago. Great handguns. I don’t find a Glock fits me the way it does, so for sure grab onto one and play with it.

Sig P365 is the most popular carry option these days. I have an X Macro, I wish I would have gotten an XL instead, that extra bit of grip prints and the extended beaver tail pokes my belly.
Good thing about the P365 series is the modularity. I can put different grip module fairly easily. If I want a small gun in the summer, and a larger gun in the winter, it’s easy to swap grips, while keeping the same slide and red dot.
I’m going to try some more holsters, then grip modules. If I don’t get the comfort and concealment I want, I’m going to pick up a Glock 48 and try that.

I bought a G26 today. Previously carried a Shield and P365. If you want something small and priced like a G43, just get a G43.

I’ve got a Kimber Ultra CDP 2 I’ll sell you. It’s a 1911 so it’s very slim.

That’s a beautiful piece, but that’s out of my price range. Thank you though.

I’ll see. I want to broaden my taste and research what you all recommend though.

I appendix carry a FNS 9C with an extra magazine in a Versacarry holster. I use the pinkie extention on the magazines and I don't have a big hand.

P365 for T-shirt carry, Xmacro for bigger shirts. Considering you’ve got a g17 already… a p365 sounds like the best option for you.

Check out the following:
Glock 43X - needs little explanation. Loads of aftermarket accessories, stock trigger and sights aren’t as great out of the box.
Sig P365 - great trigger and factory sights, comes in a lot of different slide length and grip length variations (365X, 365XL, Macro), so you can get what works for you.
Hellcat - trigger not as smooth as the Sig but still a solid gun and like the Sig it’s available on quite a few variations for the slide and grip length.
Canik MC9 - haven’t shot this one but have heard good things, excellent value for the price. Nice looking gun.

RUGER LCR 22LR
8 rounds of 22LR Stinger will deter any attacker. Especially since you can put them all within a 4 inch group at <5yards (where most CC defense situations occur)
Accuracy/quickness > power in CQC
I argue with people about this all the time lol

Have you tried out the G43? I carried one for several years. It has a mushy long arse trigger with a lot of “play” but with practice it can be overcome. I’m still pretty accurate with it (plenty accurate enough for self defense scenarios)…..however there isn’t anything you can do to that gun to make it perform like a single action semi-auto handgun….its for that reason alone that I recently switched to a SA EMP 3 9mm 1911 for my EDC.
I can put 3 inch groups with that thing out to 20-25 yards. It is a real tack driver.

Well, 22 is better than nothing and yes will likely deter most attackers but it’s definitely not better suited for self defense than 9mm or the other larger self defense calibers. I don’t even see how you would argue this.

My main cc gun is an Sig P365 my children bought a few years ago for Christmas. Before that, my main cc gun was a Kimber Micro 9. I'v e also cc a Kahr CM9. All of these guns are small and conceal easily. If clothing dictates a smaller gun, I cc a Kahr CW380 in my right front pocket. The Kahr CM9 is small enough to fit easily in the front pocket of most trouser, but not usually jeans. I used to primarily use IWB holders, but now favor OWB holsters.

What I normally carry. I swapped out the grip module to a Wilson so it isn’t as bad to rub my skin when I wear just a t-shirt.
