The owners of my company wants me to look into this for them. We have a few people on our leadership team who currently lack the capability (or capacity) to communicate respectfully without shift blaming, deflecting, shutting down, or becoming defensive.

They want to "invest" in his team before any further disciplinary action is required, which I think is commendable.

Ultimately, if any change is going to work, it has to come from within, and while I am skeptical about this approach (because people generally don't like being asked to change), I am on board with it.

Any local recommendations?

our company uses John Sherk. I just looked at his website and he says he helps HVAC company owners. Idk what thats about, but he has been a HUGE resource to us. He also helps our marketing company. Thats how we found out about him. And they told us he helps Gator Millworks team in Denham, which is a cabinet manufacturer. So again, not sure why he stresses hvac companies on the front page of his website.

I’ve seen your posts about your method of successfully navigating the purchase of a vehicle.

Based on that alone, I can tell you that you are smarter and more capable than any grifting retard who calls themselves a “business coach”, “career coach” or even worse…a “life coach.”

The leaders at your company are a bunch of clueless buffoons who think Grant Cardone is a genius. Start updating your resume with plans to GTFO.

I’ve never seen this work out. People are who they are. It may ‘fix’ their professionalism for a week or two, but as soon as a stressful situation arises, they’ll be right back to their true personalities. You’re not going to change a grown man.

Not sure where you are located, and I don’t have any specific reccs for Business/Executive Coaches.. but i would suggest casting a wide net, there are many many Business Coaches who conduct sessions remotely and/or fly to your location so i would not confine your search to ‘Baton Rouge business coaches’ or ‘(insert location) business coaches’ depending on where you are.. one nice thing about the current virtual interconnected world we now live in is that you can utilize and tap into talent from around the US and around the globe .

I have past experience with Executive Leadership teams and their inability function as a team. We hired a business consultant to evaluate our Executive leadership and they recommended sending each member to Rapport Leadership training. The course is Leadership Breakthrough One which is a 2.5 day onsite experience that is life changing. LINK

Once the Executive Team members have completed Rapport, I would suggest having the CEO enroll in a local Vistage Chapter, which is a peer group for CEO's and Business Owners. It's an invaluable the experience they will acquire executive coaching and professional relationships that are established from this group.
LINK

If you're looking for the economy method, then I suggest purchasing each Executive team member a copy of Patrick Lencioni's Five Dysfunctions of a Team. It's a great read and will begin to expose characteristics and personal behaviors of team members.

I've seen lots of coworkers over the years get promoted to management or existing managers over the years at our plant. They often take these courses through LSU Continuing ED program.
Granted they get it free through ITEP but it seems to be decent enough.

And probably cheaper than paying a consulting firm.
