Remember he did this in the bowl game vs Wisconsin. He played RB in HS. Had 1,100 yards his senior year.

Would you like to see him utilized in special situations a few times a game? Dude is a monster I don’t see why not.

Too much risk. All it takes is one cheap shot.

Him getting injured by doing so is why not.

Don’t need a fumble at the goal line.

lol…what an argument.

If he’s on D and gets injured, then at least it would be while playing his expected role, as opposed to a throwaway handoff just to get a touch at RB.

We have running backs, so let’s let them do what they do, and have Harold do what he does.

Now, if it’s at the end on the NC game and to pile on to the score, then sure.

No. It’s dumb and unnecessary

LSU has one RB (Williams) who has proven he can get tough yards. They have another (Jackson) who is BIGGER than Perkins.

When you have guys who are as good, probably much better, combined with a complete lack of depth at LB, you don’t use you LB as a RB

That was done in the bowl game ONLY because it was a meaningless bowl game. It just added a wrinkle of fun for the players in a game of very little consequence

This is a dumb argument.

Sure he can get injured on defense. But if he gets injured playing his real position, it sucks but that’s football.

If he gets injured by the coaches getting cute and playing him on offense it makes he and them look like idiots.

The reward isn’t worth the risk.

Like Trendon Holliday playing edge rusher on 3rd down.

Yes. Why not? We do have a lot of other playmakers on offense though that are just as capable.

Although he & CJ Daniels wouldn’t be able to be on the field at the same time (#4).

So you have two 6 foot 225-pound running backs who are accustomed to running through tackles with the ball secured, practice it at every practice, but you want to hand it to a 220-pound linebacker instead.

I would understand if you were talking about a 300-pound guy but what would the point of using Perkins instead of a big back be?

Kaleb Jackson is 225 lbs. That’s who I want with the ball on the goal line. If Perk were to get hurt running the ball BK would get crucified. He damn near got hurt in the bowl game.

It doesn't have to be a cheap shot. Didn't a player celebrate after a play with an innocent looking jump and was out for the year.

Doesn’t even have to be a cheap shot.

Risk does not out weigh the reward considering LSU has a pile of kids on the roster that literally carrying the ball is their craft.

It was probably a promise fulfilled in that game for not transferring.

I mean even if you guaranteed he wouldn’t get injured I would still much rather give Kaleb Jackson the ball at the goal line. This is a dumbass idea all the way around.

In high school I played DL. Coach wanted to try me for short yardage at practice. First play guy hits me low on my right knee. Torn ACL and patella tendon injury. It’s not worth the risk IMO. Dude is a 1st rd talent at LB.
