It would be so scary to be the one to deliver the check to St. George, especially if you’re a poc. St. George is one of those “sundown towns”

Post like these will make it impossible for young people to afford housing in St. George.

If that turns out to be the direction, than St. George should sue and keep it in the courts until BR has spent the $200M in fighting. BR will run out of money before SG. They made the lawfare bed, they can lay in it.

The city of BR is so fricked. They can either give the amounts determined by St. George (which they don’t have) l, or they fight it and will have to provide an accurate accounting of what was taken in from St. George vs what was spent (which the can’t do).

Lessons need to be taught here. This is why BR is fighting this so hard

No shite.

BR can’t pay off one year of St George money ($40-50m).

Cut the catered lunches involving SWB and they may come close.

Think about the way this thing went down and how our mayor and our C-P Council acted.

There was an election and the people voted to incorporate. State officials certified the election and the Governor appointed a transition team to be made up of five members. One was to be appointed by the mayor.

Four private citizens sued to over turn the election, but our mayor (who sued as a private citizen) and our Council (one who also sued) did nothing officially.

The mayor didn’t appoint a transition member; nor did the Council as a whole do anything that I can recall to the new city. Oddly enough it seems they counted on this private lawsuit led by MOP, well healed leaders, and Broome to prevail and overturn an election.

Think about it, the entire group should be recalled for a dereliction of duty. It’s ridiculous that these people are trusted with running this parish.

Did they get legal council? Did they ask the AG what to do in the interim? It was thrir go to MOP?

They best be taking out a loan then. The bill is coming due and St George is owed their funds plus interest.

BR’s debt load is supposed to be excellent. Because they balanced their fricking budget on St George’s backs.

They better be able to take out a loan and pay back the principal and the vig out of their own kitty rather than the parish kitty.

The better question.. how much will Broome spend fighting the inevitable loss. No telling how much she’s already spent
