BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A spokesperson of the Hindu community is seeking to have ancient Sanskrit scriptures displayed in public classrooms alongside the Ten Commandments.
On Wednesday, Gov. Jeff Landry signed a law that requires each public classroom, starting from kindergarten to state-funded universities, in Louisiana to display the Ten Commandments.
The President of the Universal Society of Hinduism Rajan Zed said in a statement that the Bhagavad Gita, or the Gita, was a historically significant document and he believes is a treasure that should be displayed in public school classrooms.

Well what does it say? If it’s for the betterment of society, I might be okay with it.

If he can find a legislator to file legislation to support his wish, and it passes the House and Senate and the Governor signs it, good for him. Good luck accomplishing that in the bible belt though.

I'm sure we won't see the LA GOP's blatant hypocrisy on display by not wanting to include any other faith's scripture on the wall.
Thomas Jefferson owned a Quran, there's your "historical significance" LA GOP, we need a Quran covered classroom.

It's definitely virtue signaling without any real virtue behind it. Just optics....just to prove we can and will.

Essentially life is suffering and when you die you are reborn. It’s an “endless” cycle of death and rebirth where your deeds in your past life dictate your next life. The end goal is to reach enlightenment which ends the cycle of reincarnation and you obtain that through meditation and living a pure and good life.
Or something like that.

Well, we are going to find out, after wasting a shite ton of taxpayer money on lawsuits, that homeboy passed an unconstitutional law.

I watched a female Louisiana state rep give an interview the other day that was downright embarrassing. shite like bring it on and referring to the interviewer's salary. Yes it was cnn but I watch fox too.
Fwiw I believe in the 10 commandments but where do you draw the line....should all the classroom walls be covered in various religious doctrine? No.
