The Jeff Landry hate from so called conservatives is why Republicans can’t win!

Democrats rally around Democrats, however, some Republicans in this state would rather be mad about the Ten Commandments being in schools or the Governor wanting student athletes to stand for the National Anthem. Oh, the horror! Also, you are fooling yourself if you believe the Governor can push through any legislation that will positively impact the insurance situation in this state anytime soon. As much as we all loath trial attorneys they aren’t going anywhere and they are a powerful group that no politician in Louisiana is willing to stand up to.
Meanwhile, the other side wants your kids to get sex changes, they want to send dangerous illegals into your communities, they want to take your guns, etc. etc. Get over it and stand for conservative values, because if this election is lost imagine what America will look like in four more years!

Maybe we want our elected officials to actually govern to improve our state and not to virtue signal? Why would I be a sheep and just suck off any politician because he or she is a republican? Fawk that, I want to hold ALL my elected politicians accountable.

Single issue voters are the problem with the Republicans' party. 95% is not enough. If they don't get the one shiny issue they care about passed the hell with the candidate. Don't even get me started on insurance rates actually going down.
Posted on 6/20/24 at 10:47 am to L5ut1g3r
I honestly don’t give a frick about the letter next to anyone’s name. It’s proven to mean nothing. Give me the candidate that has solutions and the balls to push them through.

What do you want Landry to do that he is not currently doing or planning to do?

You’re idiotic rant is why republicans can’t win.
There’s just as many democrats if not more calling out Biden than there are republicans calling out Trump.
It’s because it’s dumb and doesn’t accomplish anything, but Jeff Landry will act like this is some sort of feather in his cap to be proud of.
Can you explain why insurance is so much cheaper in Mississippi than in Louisiana? Are you saying that nobody should try to improve the insurance situation, and we should all just accept our fate and let insurance companies basically rob us without even fighting back?
This is a huge problem and I’m not sure why you brought this up. Louisiana is majority republican politicans though.
The biggest problem with republicans right now is all of your politicians right now just flat out suck at there job, much more than democrat politicians. Don’t get mad at other republicans for calling out the shitty republican politicians.
Accepting a scum bag politician because they’re “one of us and not the other guys” is why republicans are in this position to begin with.

lol. Jeff Landry is the only thing standing between Louisiana children and sex change doctors? You’ve swerved waaay off the rails. Gender transition is not even close to being much of a thing in La. You can relax. Nevertheless, Landry is all performance politics with little or no positive substance.

Stop virtue signaling with 10 commandments and fix issues that our state has. And not give big money donors cabinet positions.

We are in the position we are in because people Iike you clutch your pearls and vote based on emotion and not fact. Republican or Democrat they are all losers, but I’ll take Landry over JBE all day long.

This. The amount of people on here that was solely basing their vote off of constitutional carry was hilarious. One guy said constitutional carry would fix every issue with the state

It all starts somewhere… Pandora’s box was opened with legalizing gay marriage. I don’t care who you love, doesn’t bother me one bit, but the right to marriage should not have been an option.

Other than some virtue signaling social issues, there is no difference. In fact, I’m not sure if JBE was this hostile to industry. It’s close.

As a republican, the issues that I care most about are economic. I care about things like taxes, roads, insurance, business licensing, drainage, education, and public safety.
Landry has focused almost entirely on stupid social issues during his first legislative session. The 10 Commandments bill is moronic. The Cleo Fields district is pure political quid pro quo gerrymandering. Landry has done nothing for roads. He shut down the big coastal restoration projects. He has done nothing to accelerate drainage projects like the Comite Diversion or Darlington Reservoir. He can’t even get rid of the licenses for Florists or hair braiding. He torpedo’d any positive tort reforms. No tax changes.
I have to give him some credit on attempting education reform in a big way, but I don’t think the plan being proposed will ever work as designed or even be implemented. I have to give him some credit for using state police to circumvent NOPD consent decrees, but he ignored a lot of low hanging fruit which could have made big positive changes.
Here’s a few things we could do RIGHT NOW that would help this state immensely:
Legislate that no student can pass 4th grade unless they can read. Hold them back FOREVER if they cannot.
Legislate stricter standards for the setting of bail amounts by judges. The legislature has the power in the state constitution to not just set the range of sentences for guilty verdicts on crimes but also the ranges of amounts courts can set as bail for given charges as well as the circumstances and factors judges should weigh when setting bail. A big part of our crime problem is inner city judges giving low or no cash bail to repeat offenders for violent crimes and then never showing up for their court dates, meaning the same people get arrested over and over again for crimes and never spend more than a night or two in jail at a time. Higher bails for these harsher crimes would keep the worst repeat offenders in jail before their trials so they can’t commit more crimes, and it ensures they actually show up for the trial.
We need to eliminate the inventory tax/inventory tax credit system as well as the state income tax.
We need to reduce the amount of responsibilities for state government and return more powers and responsibilities to parish governments.
Baton Rouge and Lake Charles need new bridges, I-49 needs to be finished, and Baton Rouge also needs a loop. Get them built with tolls.
Marijuana needs to be legalized recreationally and taxed for sale. We have to eliminate this corrupt duopoly growing system that is keeping prices artificially high multiple times above the black market. The excuse of the feds having it at schedule 1 is no longer valid.
As a Republican who cares about economic growth, what has Landry given me? If this is what WINNING looks like, what have I won?

Democrats stick together because they are all virtue signaling a-holes like Landry. Most real conservatives want the government involved in their lives as little as possible. This includes not doing dumb stuff like mandating the 10 commandments in schools. We don't stick with an arse hat like Landry because we don't want him involved in the stupid things he is concerning himself with while there are real problems in Louisiana. Also, you are wrong about the insurance situation. He gutted the tort reform bills in such a way that the injury attorneys were happy. When injury attorneys are happy insurance companies are not. Commercial insurance rates in this state are prohibitive to business. The collateral source rule change would have decreased judgments significantly because actual medical expenses would be used to calculate damages instead of the "full retail" bill presented by doctors. If you have ever seen your health insurance bill the doctor bills at an exorbitant amount ("full retail") that is then written down to a negotiated rate that is what is actually paid by the insurance company. That amount is often 25-30% of the full retail price. In car insurance injury claims the medicals are what attorneys use to start calculating damages. They are used to determine current medicals, future medicals and to determine pain and suffering. Cutting that initial medical to 25% would cut the overall award around 50%. With potential awards cut in half, hopefully the injury attorneys would quit taking the borderline and frivolous cases because they would not be worth it. That would not have an immediate effect but over time as award payouts were fewer and the overall award went down premiums would as well. But to do that Gordon would have to probably give up one of his Ferraris and Spencer would have to drive to work in a car instead of take his helicopter. Since they own your governor that is never going to happen, so be happy with only a few insurance companies willing to do business in the state and your premiums going up every year.

Care to read over anything Trump has posted on his social media website? Can you find one post he’s made that isn’t 100% emotions? Cmon man you can’t be this dumb.
Trumps expertise is he knows how to play to peoples emotions to get voters on his side, please don’t act like the Republican party is fact only voters.

Yep, Landry now owns the insurance rate issue - which is also political malpractice. JBE can run and win on this one issue in 2027.
What’s 10x worse than the insurance issue is what Landry and Carmouche are doing to the O&G business. Unforgivable.
