What have you heard non LSU fans say about attending a game in TS?

People who obviously have not attended a game at LSU as a visiting fan have told me horror stories that they’ve heard from others.
They said they were told to not wear your teams gear or people will throw things at you, cuss you out, harass you etc. I’ve been going to LSU games for a very long time and never once have I seen this behavior that people swear by.
Granted I did tell these people that if you show up acting like an a-hole talking trash the whole time, trouble will find you. If you’re cool and just enjoy the scene you definitely won’t have an issue. People don’t believe me and are too scared to attend games there. Ps these are Aggies ,sooners and longhorns. Pussies. I know.

I’ve witnessed people scream at other teams fans. Mainly when someone shows up in a teams jersey who isn’t playing that day. But all in good fun.

That’s what I tried to tell people. If you get heckled, it’s just fun. More often than not if you take the time to actually talk to someone they’ll show you a good time.
“Hey I’m here checking out Game day from XYZ, what are some things I have to see?”
These people legit made it seem like their lives were in danger if they show up in BR wearing burnt orange.

Almost every person I know from other schools has said the same thing. “Terrified before because of the reputation but by far one of the most hospitable places in the country”

We don't want them here anyway.

I agreed that it is true there will be a number of drunk fans passed out and laid out in their seats.

In my really drunk, violent younger days I was a grade A a-hole to some fans under 50 and over 20. Mostly if they chirped back. Definitely pound the hell out of Auburns fan bus.

Well, I did see LSU fans shoot a cannon through a Texas jersey.

My sister was in the USM band in 94. They told them to help each other keep the lsu fans off them. After the game my dad and I walked up to her and the band freaked out. She told them “chill out that’s my dad.” People really believe it but I’ve never seen it in all my years at lsu games.

The worst behavior toward opposing fans I've ever seen and I've been to every SEC stadium but 1, multiple times.....has been by LSU fans. I could relate several stories.
Conversely the best treatment of opposing fans has been by LSU fans. I've seen the best and worst of it, both here.

The only "harassment" I've ever personally witnessed was LSU fans throwing breadcrumbs at Oregon fans in 2011. That's tame AF but a lot of the Duck fans were pretty butthurt. Tough titties. I laughed my arse off.

The Army people before the game were excited and nervous. After the game they said it was incredible. Everyone sitting around them was very nice. Now we whipped them pretty bad and they aren’t SEC so.

Mixed reviews and feedback from Virginia Tech fans in 2007.
Some had a great time and others were heckled by obnoxious fans who wanted to start a fight.

I remember a few years ago, when ULM came and played LSU in football. A lot of the ULM students I knew, were talking about how they were gonna wear their LSU gear to the game on Saturday, because they were afraid people were gonna beat the shite outta them if they had on ULM gear. The first thing about that I found odd, was the lack of pride those kids had in their own school. Off topic, but that’s a big problem at ULM that you don’t find at other schools. Anyways, I told them those worries they had were nothing but BS, and that they better wear their ULM gear to the game, because that’s the school they attend and pay money to. And secondly, that shite never happens unless you go looking for trouble, or are an SEC rival, or big Power 5 school or something. Idk why we have the stereotypes on us that we have. We’re fun and very loving people, who like to have a good time.

My Tiger Stadium story:
Many years ago I was sitting in lower south with my two son-in-laws. In front of us was a woman in her mid 30's with two pre-teen boys. The kids kept leaving the game for drinks, than food, than a bath room break, etc.
Finally in the second half, the woman turned to them & said words to the effect that they were not appreciating where they were, it was the home of the Fighting Tigers, the Billy Cannon run, the Chinese Bandits, the Go Team, the Golden Band, the white jerseries. She continued on...after a few minutes, I asked her if she would marry me!

There was the Alabama fan that got a fanga in his booty. He said, "I don't play that. I will kill outchea!"

Two years ago my Alabama neighbors got us tickets for the LSU Bama game in Tiger Stadium. We were in the south endzone and they had on some Bama gear. I was a little disappointed at several people outside the stadium selling F___ Saban t-shirts outside thinking, isn't this a family event?
I was shocked at how they were treated in the stadium. Don't get me wrong, I am all for some taunting but it was over the top crude. Two young couples above us were continuously yelling F Saban, F Bama. It went on throughout the game and the attacks become more and more personal.
Midway through the second half a fellow LSU fan tried to start a fight with the male neighbor that I had to stand up for and was able to quell. Keep in mind, this is a respectful, mild manner couple and they did not deserve this. I was ashamed of my fellow fans.
I had season tickets on the east sideline for 30 years and gave them up for the 2019 season. Never has it been so bad.

I work with many guys from other fanbases and almost everyone would disagree with this. Also to a person they say the Swamp is that place, that they are just awful to opposing fan bases, one of the guys who told me this is a Gator fan and was a student there for a while.
I personally have not been to any other stadiums. I do chirp at other fan bases but also take the time to talk with them so that the chirping is more like friendly banter unless they are just jerks. On that note, I will say the Bama fan base that travels, aside from the yella hammer BS they chant, is generally friendly but the Moo State crowd are some surly SOBs.
