Put him in a holding cell. Make sure his cellmates, the dregs of Jackson, Miss., know what he did. Give the deputies guarding the cell the night off. In the morning, collect the corpse. Leave it out for the buzzards.

It's primarily a LA case. He was on the run in MS. There was an Amber alert for hours.
The trafficking stuff needs to be fleshed out over time because the story doesn't make sense.
The biggest question is his relationship (if any) to the mom. Seems like the typical predator targeting single moms scenario. Based purely on odds, that's the most likely scenario.

There is no doubt in my mind if you make the punishment extremely brutal for those who commit brutality, there will be less of both!!

It's very unlikely he avoids the death penalty unless the family asks for life. It doesn't get more brutal than death.

I work in the Publuc Safety technology industry. Some of my clients are trained in sex trafficking investigations. The amount of trafficking that goes on is mind boggling. Most of the victims are poor women and children. Easily forgotten by most of society.

DCFS under JBE was a nightmare, especially in the Florida Parishes. He came in and protected people who should have been fired bc of politics. Check out who supervised that area and who was his original liaison to the legislature.
