They might be cute but damn I am at war with them. They got into my chicken pen and killed some of my chickens. After missing a few times with my .22 those frickers are taunting me now by getting on my porch.

Time to go get a trap. The kind they snare their little man hands and just eat their arm off.

Update: Killed 2 in last 3 days. I have had chicken pen for 3 years and never had an issue till now. frickers keep just walking up to my porch.

I'm battling squirrels at the moment...thousands of dollars to the exterior of my home and patio / pavilion.

Pellet gun didn't work so now trapping and relocating them.

I was quite surprised when I discovered that they need to be relocated at least 3 miles away (7 + for raccoons) or they will find their way back.

the coon cuffs/dog proof traps are awesome. Find somebody who wants to eat the coons and they won't go to waste.

Something about killing a trapped animal to me just seems a little psychopathic. I mean, if I shoot them while there in a tree in my yard, no remorse. Just don’t know about killing one I’ve already trapped.

One dude I was reading about online fills an ice chest with water and then submerges the traps in the ice chest with the trapped animals inside.

I had a raccoon climb my chimney and take up residence in my attic. I ended up purchasing some dog proof traps and setting them around my back yard. My 10 year old daughter ended up enjoying "trapping". She caught 22 raccoons last winter.
Order a set off of Amazon and use cat food and marshmallows. Put a plastic cup over the top to keep rain out. Raccoons are nosey and the cup will draw their attention, they will remove it and check out whats underneath.

Put some food right off the porch. Get in your gillie suit or in a blind and wait. Practice aiming and shooting true in the dark.
