I figure I am the last man on earth who has not watched this series.

I watched Breaking Bad three times through and love it.

Just never got around to the Saul prequel. I am on the third season and all I can say is….

I agree with every superlative you guys have said about it in the past.

It was great. Breaking Bad stuck the landing better though, IMO. But I thoroughly enjoyed BCS.

For me it really took off after the story arc with his brother came to its conclusion. After that it was absolutely great.

Still haven't watched it and have yet to finish Breaking Bad. With that said, is BCS more or less depressing than BB?

Well.....
both are very depressing, but I would say BB is more depressing. I was ready for Breaking Bad to end.

Jimmy was more likable than Walter, but Better Call Saul was very depressing as well. But maybe less so than Breaking Bad.

The final season is prolly the best one too! Great show, but not quite Breaking Bad for me.

Slowest burn show I've ever seen....and that helped make it great.

Honestly, I enjoyed it even more than BB. And I was crazy about Kim Wexler by the end. Rhea Seehorn killed it in that role.

The shows good and a very slow burn but the introduction of Lalo really steps the show up a few notches

I can think of at least one character that wasn't too pleased to be introduced to Lalo.

Outside of maybe the very literal last scene of Walt in the lab, the final season of BB was a jumbled mess. It was good, but S5 was a clear step down.

BCS is better than BB in almost every way, outside of the fact that there would not be a BCS without BB. So it definitely owes the original show that much. But it is a better overall show IMO. And I say that as someone who was VERY hesitant about a show focused around Saul Goodman. I didn’t think that would work very well and I couldn’t have been more wrong. VG is a mastermind showmaker.

This is exactly how I felt upon hearing there would be a spin off focused on Saul Goodman. Couldn’t have been more wrong.

One of the few shows that’s excellent from start to finish.
