At this point it’s pretty obvious Disney is bombing this IP on purpose. Kathleen Kennedy still being in charge and the WokeLyte show prove that.
They’re going to sell it. That’s the only rational explanation. My hope and prayer is that George Lucas purchases it back. Based on recent interviews he sounds pissed at what they are doing with his baby . He could get it at a discount from what he sold it for so he’d look like a genius then could retcon everything he wants

i hope you're right that they sell it to a more capable, less ideological entity, but George Lucas is not the future of Star Wars. the dude is 80 and even if he WANTED to, which i doubt he does, he isnt capable of saving this franchise.
and let's not forget that George brought us the prequel trilogy which, while better than the current garbage, is still garbage. time and subsequent other terrible Star Wars content has softened our memories of the prequels, but they suck too. go watch the Plinkett reviews as a reminder if you need to.

so your theory is Disney is destroying a valuable IP they paid a lot of money for on purpose with the goal of selling it back to George Lucas at a steep discount?

Lucas is the primary stockholder of Lucasfilm. He’s retired and isn’t interested in buying it back. Disney Star Wars isn’t going under, they’re now receiving funding from nearly 30 world economic forum members so the money won’t stop coming no matter how much they lose.

Why would they deliberately damage the brand and lower the value of their plan is to sell it?

It’s not that they necessarily want it to ‘bomb’ but they care far more about promoting their leftist message and subverting a traditionally masculine hobby than they do about making money

The ones in charge aren’t purposely trying to piss people off and lose money. Many are stuck in a bubble and they believe their more progressive ideas are more mainstream/relatable than they really are.

I don't know, but if your best defense of a nonsensical prediction is "I don't know but logic is out the window," then there are probably other options to consider.

I don't agree. If they wanted to sell it they'd be trying to increase the value. Everything they're doing is destroying the value of the IP.

That might have been a reasonable view a few years ago, but there's no way they can possibly believe this is marketable at this point. If they do, then they shouldn't be in charge of literally anything.

Correct. Success is measured by more than just money. They didn't buy Star Wars. They bought the tunnel to Star Wars' fanbase - a fanbase they want to message to.
They use Star Wars as a conduit to normalize this religion to people who they consider toxic. That's it.

And don’t forget about the Indiana Jones IP either. The Dial of Destiny was a massive bomb.
And yet in 12 years of owning the rights to these properties, Disney is still claiming that they are getting a great ROI. I would love to see the accounting magic behind those claims.
* I can’t imagine anyone other than possibly Apple wanting to buy this mess.

They’re not going to sell it. They’re going to make sure that when children growing up today remember “Star Wars”, any ties to traditional western tradition and hero building is forgotten and replaced with corporate driven social engineering. Ultimately, they will kill it, just as Indiana Jones, James Bond, Marvel and a host of other traditional hero based franchises are getting run through the DEI meat grinder. Financial success, it should be painfully obvious now, has never been their goal.

Deeper theory is that Iger is tanking the entire company so it can be bought by Apple, or at the very least, sell off everything except the classic Disney library and MCU/SW/Pixar and, maybe, the theme parks (IOW, ESPN, ABC and all that shite), and then have Apple buy the rump (with the IPs.)
At least that makes more sense than selling it back to Lucas.
