I fly no carry on with a backpack on every other airline. I booked through Kiwi to get the cheap flight. They frick me at the last second with a $100 carry on fee for a backpack im still gonna put under my seat
Completely defeats the purpose of flying this cheap arse airline to begin with

I'm sitting on an American flight now for 45 minutes waiting on the fricking first captain to show up, so pick your poison.
The flight out of baton rouge was overfueled by enough where they could only take 45 people on the 65 person plane. They all suck in their own special way

American is also on my shite list.

I’ve flown Frontier and Spirit several times for short direct flights and have never had an issue bringing a backpack on. What did they say the problem was?

My only advice when picking airlines is find the best lounge at your home airport and book with them. That’s where you’ll be spending the most time anyway.

Yeah they're usually fine with a small backpack so not sure what he ran into today. I imagine OP had this type of backpack though

LOL, Priority Pass hasn't let me into a lounge in IAH terminal D in three years.
Not sure that this is an ULCC issue, but the more souls on board, especially with international connections, the more likely your flight is going to get prioritized. Nobody gives two shits about a Houston to OKC flight with 70 people on it.

US airlines are much more relaxed about it than the European budget airlines.
I didn’t have an issue in Latin America, either.

Frontier loves the bait and switch to kill you with charges. they advertise $29 flights! end up paying $300 once all the fees are added. It is bullshite.

Its not BS. Read the fine print and policies. They make it abundantly clear what will be subject to a charge based on size. I fly Frontier, Breeze, and Spirit all the time because I can (without any bag). I even got away with a small bag once when I expected to pay for it.
If you accumulated $270 worth of baggage on a Frontier flight, it is completely your fault, not theirs.

It's not worth flying these airlines with their shite fees, shite schedules, and shite service. At least with the majors they have the infrastructure to move things around a get you where you need to go if anything happens. It's more than worth paying a little more.

Did your bag fit in the free personal item thing? I can always bring a decent sized small bag with zero issue.

Well my backpack fit in the box when I pushed it. Its literally a backback I got specifically because it is the max dimensions of personal carry on. Every other airline asked me to do the same thing, I put it in box and they put the tag on it. I have 3 tags on the handle.

Yes, but because I had to push it Frontier said no. The whole thing fit in there.
Listen I get it, I sound like a complaining bitch. Im not telling yall not to use Frontier. I think $100 is a bit steep of a price for a backpack that easily fits under seat but thats just me. I have flown Frontier with this same backback so I thought itd be fine.

This is another thing that pissed me off. Flight was delayed by an hour.
