Looking back at the Alex Jones trial.

The red flag for the current banana republic is when Jones got sued and lost to the tune of 1.5 billion dollars for just having the opinion that Sandy Hook was a hoax. It was a slippery slope that everyone refused to talk about.
When I look back on how that was handled; I knew Trump was going to be found guilty.

If you're curious why the right keeps getting there asses kicked at the polls, it's because you guys think Alex Jones is the victim and the families of children who were murdered in a school shooting are the enemies.
People who defend Alex Jones are going straight to hell. No discussion, straight to hell.

Better than voting for a guy that showed his dick to his daughter in the shower.

2 things can be true. Jones was an a-hole. But companies responsible for multiple deaths are not awarded $1.5 billion. It was a corruption of the system.
Defending someone you don’t like from abuse in the courts isn’t a path to hell. It is a defense of the system. A system intended to defend all of us.
To quote Robert Bolt “..And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned around on you--where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country's planted thick with laws from coast to coast--man's laws, not God's--and if you cut them down...d'you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake.”

You like people getting fined a jillion dollars for something they said?

“Just having an opinion”
So what happened to all those families (whose children were brutally murdered) because of that opinion? There was a court case about this, the evidence was clear, your revisionist history doesn’t change any of that.

So you mean the same government who lied their asses off about covid and everything associated with it is telling the truth about Sandy Hook? The same government that lied about decreasing costs in healthcare while you can keep your doctor...the same government that lied about having fair elections....it can go on and on
Jones was made to pay because he pulled back the curtain on all the fakery.

There’s a court case about this exact issue. It’s quite extensive and covers what happened thoroughly.
You should read up on it. It’ll be painfully inconvenient for your narrative but you might actually learn something.

I know this is going to be difficult for you to grasp, without the benefit of abstract reasoning, but let me try: one can believe Alex Jones is a nut job and even a shock jock con-artist and still also believe that his trial (and specifically the damages award) was unconstitutional, unjust and a sham.

for just having the opinion that Sandy Hook was a hoax

I’m MAGA and I hate the truth
This thread is teaching me that fining Alex Jones too much money should be the main focus, and not what Alex Jones or the shooter did.

Why are you so spun up about this issue?

They profited off their kids death.
Who’s the a-hole again?

School shootings don’t bother you? The media manipulating the truth and harassing victims of school shootings don’t bother you? Very telling that some of you are more concerned with how much Alex Jones was fined than what Alex Jones did.
