What is the most heartbreaking moment you have witnessed in lsu baseball history?

This is easily one of the top ones for sure.

The Jake Slaughter BS call. We were winning game 3 with Lange.

Alex Cora dropping in the infield after Warren Morris went yard.
ETA: You didn't specify it had to be a heartbreaker for LSU.

The Stanford grand slam in the CWS was one of them, but being that we did beat them in a championship game many years later, that did take a lot of the hurt away.

Coastal Carolina, Stoney Brook, Houston, and Tulane were all way worse than this. 2013 laying an egg in Omaha was worse. 1998 CWS semis was worse. This was a late season Cinderella run that came up short. Our good teams losing to inferior teams is always harder to stomach. You only think this is the worst because it just happened tonight.

Big Ben’s grand slam ball against Stanford.

The only thing BS was Slaughter's slide.
Incredibly dumb and an easy call.
As for me, the most heartbreaking was USC beating LSU twice to end our three-peat in 1998. I was 8 years old so I took it hard.

Losing the championship series to Florida in 2017 with Alex Lange not even being able to pitch.
That's what made last years championship that much better because it felt like redemption winning it over Florida.

I was there. It was not fun and a long drive home

The ones that still bother me:
- Losing to Houston in our regional in '16 (?)
- Losing to FSU in the supers in '19. I rarely call names but Saul Garza should've blocked the ball and kept the runner from advancing. That was lazy.
- Coming back to tie OM being down 4 with 2 out in B9 and nobody on. And then to lose in the 10th.

Losing the super regional to Tulane in Skips last season is also right up there. After winning game 1 it seemed like it was destiny for Skip to go back to Omaha for one last ride.
It was quite shocking and heartbreaking they couldn't get it done, although that was a really good Tulane team. And then Skip going to talk to their team afterwards was all class but hit you in the feels knowing it was the end for him with LSU.

The 3rd game wasn't very good at all, and it was miserably hot that day as well. Still a little bizarre to me that Skip's last game was at Zephyr Stadium.

Not for me considering the season, I was proud they pulled it together and made a fun run for us.
But not even close to one of the most disappointing or heartbreaking.

I feel like a missed fly ball would be there

The fly ball only made things end sooner. Our only chance was to shut them out in the 9th… those two duck farts didn’t deserve to score.

I think what hurts most about this one is what a great supers draw we would have had. 3 seeded West Virginia at home surely means Omaha. But, if we’re being honest they probably 2 and q in Omaha
We have had good supers draw and lost, though. Stony Brook, coastal, and FSU

IDK about that. 2 stud SP can carry you a long way (see Ole Miss '22).
