Are these solid or are they a rip off? Not OT baller status since I can’t afford Rolex or Patek Phillipe but this seems to be a nice quality at a much more reasonable price.

Looking at one priced at around $800 so a little extravagant but hopefully something that should last a long time.

ETA: the watch is the Le Locle Powermatic 80. Found it on Jomashop for $500 after tax.

If you're talking about the PRX Powermatic 80, it's a fantastic watch. Don't pay $800 for it though, you can get it much cheaper from reputable sellers.

Not fake. Just a good watch nerds “starter” watch.

Buy it online. Don’t pay a Dillards or Zales or whoever price.

I have a Tissot with a leather strap. It's a quality watch for the price.

Recently got a couple of SEIKO 5 automatics. Nice weight and simple style. It's not a luxury brand, but they're nice watches.

Tissot is solid. Go for the Gentleman Powermatic 80 in green or blue. Pure class

As has been said, very solid starter watch. Don’t know that I would spend $800 on one, as I would rather spend a bit more for a Nomos at that point, but picking one up for around $500 is never a bad idea.

I have 2 Tissot’s and I love them. Very clean, no-frills and aren’t gaudy. Affordable too, relatively.

Also recommend Norqain if you want something a step up from Tissot.

I have a Seastar 2000 and love it. However, my Norquain Neverest is my favorite of my new watches. Can’t go wrong with either.

If you like the integrated bracelet look, PRX is solid for that money. I really like the look of the Genteleman Powermatic especially the green dial version. I've never owned one, but were I shopping for an auto in that price range it would be on my list - so much so that when my daughter asked for a rec for a watch present for her new husband that was my recommendation and it turned out to be a good one.
