re: What’s your single most exciting play in LSU football history?

While the outcome sucked, the single loudest moment I’ve experienced in TS was the 2008 Bama blocked kick to force overtime. Was also Saban’s first return to Baton Rouge

This was such an awesome moment. Arkansas jumped out to a 14-0 lead and the offense wasn’t clicking in the first half. The return tied the game and then the floodgates opened, to Bobby Patrino’s chagrin, capping off a 12-0 regular season.
In a season where Mathieu had so many all-world plays, I have never seen a defensive player take over a game the way he did against the Hogs. And he was playing out of position at Free Safety IIRC

Was in the same business class with him in fall 2011, taught by Tim Chandler. Good guy, though his attendance was sparse. The professor didn’t seem to mind, that team was incredible that calendar year

I say this with a heavy heart, but this is probably the worst post I’ve seen on the rant in the past decade

Completely agree with this.
But to be fair, he’s probably hearing similar chants towards Norvell if he’s been attending FSU games this season

re: Does anybody get Grant Delpit vibes from Pickett?

Delpit’s best game was against Clemson. Was finally able to heal between the Georgia game and the national championship and he balled out.
I don’t even need to acknowledge the OU game. He could have sat that game out too

Considering most pageant winners these days are obsese, male, or both, this is a refreshing alternative.

re: Thoughts on Tissot watches?

I have 2 Tissot’s and I love them. Very clean, no-frills and aren’t gaudy. Affordable too, relatively.
Also recommend Norqain if you want something a step up from Tissot.

re: Most disappointing and surprising win/loss for LSU football since 2020
Posted by OrangeWhip on 4/15/24 at 10:05 pm to Paul Allen
Best surprise was Bama 2022, hands down.
Disappointment? I’d argue 2023 Ole Miss, sheerly because of the defensive debacle. Still astonished we scored 49 and still lost

re: What is Brant Denny stadium like?
Posted by OrangeWhip on 11/1/23 at 10:23 am to bdavids09
Went in 2009 and in 2011 for the LSU games.
The stadium itself is very nice, almost has a pro feel to it, but not nearly as corporate.
They didn't really have much "filler" before the games, no gimmicks or DJ's or anything. The pregame was nice but doesn't have the rowdiness that LSU has once the band takes the field.
I can see why there's a sense that it's a bit hollow, despite 100,000 + fans, because they've become so accustomed to winning. However in 2011, the crowd intensity was comparable to some of the biggest games in Tiger Stadium.
I don't think much of Tuscaloosa, but BDS is worth the visit especially for this game. Probably the best stadium in the West outside of the good guys

re: Rewatched LSU @ MSST

I agree entirely. The offensive line has room to improve with run blocking, but I have confidence they'll find a groove with the rotation. They did a great job with pass protection, so hard to poke too many holes with their performance (except Campbell's penalties).
My only concern is the short yardage playcalling. I get it, Daniels thrives in the shotgun, but we have to get more creative here, especially near the goal line. Nothing wrong with getting under center and the classic QB sneak, it can't be any less dangerous than when Daniels doesn't slide. Hell, maybe we try some wildcat with Kaleb Jackson?
