Are some of you that invested in Softball to demand a change?

How many of you live and die by the softball program. How much money does the program positively generate? It seems Beth has done a solid job and we are in it every year to get to WS and win a NC. Beth makes a salary of mid 400’s a year. Do you guys really want to open the bank and pay another coach more money to get that elusive softball championship that will be forgotten about? Not me.
With the new rule that the school can pay the players, I rather take that money and focus it on the football and baseball program (specifically football really). That is where we make our money to support other minor programs like softball.

As the OP said, will that really lead to any monetary gains or national recognition? The program is pretty successful, and still not may eyes on it. So will 3 championships make a change?

By your dumb and selfish logic we can also fire Kim Mulkey and invest that into football and baseball to a nill effect of increasing our chances of our championship. Heaven forbid we run a first class sports department with all sports that generate positive attention for the university.

Louisiana does not produce a lot of softball talent. In the elite travel tournaments our state fields zero teams. Yet we field a top-20 team every year. To me, our softball team over-achieves every year.
Facing the best pitcher in America for 3 straight games was an unfortunate draw, she never pitched back to back all season, then started all 3 games against us.

I think the point you were trying to make is the softball team is good and most people complaining aren’t actually day in and day out fan. That’s fair for sure
The point you accidentally made is that we shouldn’t spend money on softball so we can spend it on football?
That’s dumb because not only do sports have budgets but our football program has plenty of money

yes i sure do. for many reasons. forgotten? not by us who have been involved with softball on many levels for years and years. you think anyone GAF about WBB or gymnastics?

I enjoy the softball games much more than WBB. However, I do have two daughters that play softball so maybe I’m biased.
