Hats off to Ack.. Was on his game. If only he would’ve been trusted to get one more out.

That was about predetermined pitch count. Not about trust.

In that situation he could’ve pushed it a little further.

It’s amazing people don’t think a 20 something year old kid could throw 5-10 more pitches to get an out with 6+ days rest ahead of him.

We overthink it too much

For what, we've already done what we've needed to do. There was zero need to overextended guys who will be needed next week. You see what happened to one of Tennessee's pitchers. Win or lose, our position wasn't going to change. Why risk injury? Jay knew what he was risking by doing it. And hindsight is 20/20. Is easy to look back and point to that particular decision. Despite that, we still had our opportunities. I would say the bases loaded decision by Milam cost you more, but no matter. The team showed grit and fight. That's what you like to see and hope it continues through regionals.

6+ days rest??

He very well could need to pitch on four days rest and pitched 80 pitches on the weekend

Who else has shown they deserve to be a Sunday starter?

He was trusted. It was his predetermined time to come out.

In a regional you do whatever you need to do to win the first two and while I would love for them to be blowouts. Ack has to be prepared to pitch Friday.

That’s what I hate about it.

Ulloa comes in and walks a guy on 4 straight balls after 4 straight fouls. That’s more pitches than Ack took to get the first 2 outs.

shite just give him 3 more pitches to get an out. And quit looking down at your frickin notebook like it’s an itinerary.

This did not have anything to do with "trust." This was a predetermined pitch count to make sure he is ready for Regional play.

He threw 83 pitches from Thursday-Sunday. He didn’t need to go any longer to satisfy and bunch of sky screaming retards on the Tiger Rant.
