If they do a June or July offensive, that’s without question the start of World War III or at least where we can now openly acknowledge it as such when it may have begun with Russia and Ukraine 2 years ago.

Waiting for the 4th year of Obiden, after 3 years of weakening America, was always the right window for China

Yep, if the world is Jurassic Park, then Taiwan is the raptor pit. That goes offline, and we’re totally fricked.

That said we haven’t seen a massive force on China’s SE coast, and they won’t be able to hide that from us. Xi will at least do a false flag operation beforehand and then announce his invasion to the world before he does it.

And the Dems will try to use this to postpone the election.

I think Taiwan could hold their own for a long time without being invaded due to being an island with a mountain terrain. They just have to stop China from cutting off their supply chain.

All they have to do is surround the island for that to happen and China has a vastly superior Air Force to shoot down any incoming or outgoing planes.

That's where we come into play.

China is patient and plays the long game. They will take Taiwan, in time, without firing a shot.

China viewed Russia invading Ukraine as a test and study session of how we would handle that situation. They know how we react and intervene now, so they are ready to move in.

But it’s a much, much more difficult invasion than Ukraine. It’s estimated that the initial invasion force will have to be five times larger than Normandy. It’s not possible they can do a surprise attack like we did back then, so that requires a much larger invasion force to make up for this in addition to superior weaponry we have now.

Taiwan's military equipment is probably just as advanced as China's since the US sold or gave it to them. I have a hard time believing China could completely cut them off. I think only way China could win would be a land invasion with mass casualties.

Then we close the Strait of Malacca from the Indian Ocean side and cut off the PRC's energy and food. Two can play that game. China doesn't have the blue water capability to do shite about it either. Xi knows this, which is why I don't think they're going to actually invade Taiwan. Very high risk/low reward. They get a mountainous island with few natural resources in exchange for getting their oil and food cut off and the American and EU markets closed to their goods. Very little upside. Nation-ending downside.

You are suggesting that the way the US and other countries reacted to Russia's invasion of Ukraine would be similar to how we would react to an invasion of Taiwan? I can tell you this...China's economy is not ready for the onslaught of western sanctions and the global economy is not ready for China's response. That does not even take into account the ramifications direct military confrontation with the US.

China does have a high male population due to previous policy decisions. They may welcome a high casualty war.

Someone hasn't studied Chinese history. China has always been a fractured mess. What we see of them now is completely artificial and was created by the U.S. ensuring their security and opening our markets to allow their economy to grow.

Their military draft would be based on if you're a male and single.

This assumes the current leadership has the balls or the want, to keep China out

They don't have too long to wait. Taiwan has a defense alliance with Japan. The Japs just passed a large increase in their defense budget to build 4 attack ships with new age electronic technology that America's navy doesn't even have. They will be ready for action in 3 years.

Taiwan- sorry to say- is fricked.

If China wants the island, they will just take it.

The US is not sending troops to the island to fight. Nor are we going to be using our Naval ships to engage with the Chinese.

Translation: some defensive missiles may temporarily slow Chinese agression, but they are not going to be able to hold the Chi Coms off for long.

The Taiwanese are literally on an island alone. .
