There's been a decades long culture war in this country and for a variety of reasons, we've lost. It's over.

The Left practically controls all things that matter in this country. They control our Governmental bureaucracies, the Pentagon, Federal law enforcement. They control our Urban Centers, all facets of the mainstream media, be that news, entertainment or sports. With the exception of Twatter, they control the entirety of social media. And most disturbingly of all, they control higher education and our Service Academies.

They've won, we've lost. Surrender the fantasy of a pendulum. The pendulum has been destroyed. There's nothing to swing back. This is our country now. What the future holds? I don’t really know but I do know this. The sort of Conservativism you may have known in your youth or your parents may have known is dead.

This is the sad truth that too many have not accepted yet.

I agree with you. Sooner or later, all wars have a winner. The Left and Right have been battling each other in earnest for decades.

It's now over. I accept it. All we can do now is watch the world unfold and see where it all takes us.

Well, remember these kids went on a hunger strike, then had a "press conference" complaining that they were "starving, weak, and becoming immunocompromised from not eating," so they stopped at 12 entire hours...

They showed their dedication to the cause with one day of an "intermittent fasting" diet half the housewives in America do everyday at this point.

They probably think Intifada is a new Mexican food truck. They're a joke and don't know real sacrifice and hardship and struggle... Instactivism is lame.

The Harvard Crimson: "More Than 30 Harvard Students Hunger Strike for 12 Hours in Solidarity With Brown* Protestors"

* Brown University, though I think the editors probably chuckled at the headline...

This general attitude right here is how we lost them to the Left. Conservatism spent decades not taking young people seriously. We have a long history of scoffing at them and not caring about their votes. In fact, not even caring about whether they voted or not. We had zero interest in courting them because we didn't believe they would ever vote in numbers enough to matter.

And then along comes Bill Clinton. We pointed and laughed at him and his sax on Arsenio Hall and we laughed even harder at his MTV appearance. The Democrats basically said "fine, you don't want them, we'll take them". And although they didn't need or even reap the benefits of that particular campaign at that time, it paid off in later years.

The Democrats made a long term investment in young people and we didn't. Since 1992, we've ceded almost two generations to the Left and we're still doing it.

These so called "stupid young people" as you put it, they vote now and they vote in numbers enough to turn an election.

In the run-up to the 2020 election, democrats had a LOT of advertising on social media platforms like Snapchat. These advertisements were targeting kids. Future voters.

The left has an ability to play the long game that the right doesn't. They have run circles around the right for the last 60 years to maneuver themselves to this point. While Republicans were too worried about decorum, reaching across the aisle, and being above the fray, Democrats cared about none of that and instead spent their time figuring out how to make Republicans bend the knee to them. As much as I hate them, I have to tip my cap to them for this. The left won the culture war before the right even knew there was one.

One side was willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals and claim victory, and the other side wasn't. Unfortunately, our side is the one who wasn't.

You laid out how Republican leaders sidelined themselves while the Left assumed more and more control of institutions and culture, but you left out the role of rank/file Dems and Reps. Republican leaders accurately reflect their constituents, who have sat on their hands and wallets while their schools, industries and even churches were taken over by the Left.

A contemporaneous example - conservatives cheer the frick out Gov Abbott for busing illegals to sanctuary cities. When he started that effort in earnest, he established a website where like minded citizens could donate to the cause. He said in public that given all the support the effort has on the Right, he thought the program could come close to being paid for by donations rather than Texas taxpayers. Well, as of March '24 Abbot's busing program had cost about $150 million and the effort has received only $500K of donations.

How much do you think Dems would contribute to this kind of effort if it was about abortion? Is there any question it would be at least an order of magnitude greater?

Good. Bring your bullshite here. Though I doubt you'd do it in the wrong neighborhoods. It'll be any where that is a gun free zone.

If the right decides to get violent, doubtful, it will not end until the threats have been neutralized. The left really doesn't want this.

This isnt the reason we lost young to the left. The young have always been socially idiotic and leftists.

Responsibility usually cures this as they age.

This assumption is why we have lost to the left. A big reason why the right never went for the youth vote, IMO, is because Republicans have assumed the old Churchill quote about being liberal at 25 and conservative at 35 would always hold true. This is no longer the case. Democrats have done a hell of a job insulating their voters from the economic pain the rest of us feel.

Remember when Obama pulled his yes we can and fooled many like Bernie almost did again?

It was said in this time frame that a MB ISIS Al-Quaeda flag would be planted at the White House. They are very close.

Too think the people that saw it and Michelle Bachmann were called nuts.

When Ted Cruz has a hearing with a fed saying that Andre Carson and the head of the DNC were at MB conventions chanting death to Christians, Jews, America. Nothing happened because Obama was the first black President and he was a tool infiltrator.
