As others have said, downtown ATL is the worst.

The whole city of ATL? Actually pretty nice with a thriving economy. Super fun parts to go if you know how to use Google - Virginia Highlands, West Midtown, The Battery.

The entirety of the Metro ATL, absolutely dumps on NOLA and even comparing the two laughable. My in-laws are all from South Louisiana, and every time they visit us here they comment on how much nicer it is.

Can't get crawfish for shite up here though!

Multiples and mentions of how the buildings are boarded up.....Suburbs are still OKAY, etc. It's all part of the plan. Ruin neighborhoods and business districts so those that can move do, and rebuild. It's just a cycle to prop up the construction industry.

Idiotic take, the only city worse than New Orleans in the South is Baton Rouge with Memphis being a close second

I'm in downtown all the time and I have no fricking clue what the dude is talking about how every other building is boarded up. It's nonsense. There might be some boarded up buildings on the outskirts where they are about to gentry all of that but in downtown, I have no idea wtf he is talking about.

the best defense of Atlanta is “New Orleans is shittier!” Lmao

Atlanta is a lot closer to New Orleans than it is, say, SLC or Charlotte

Considering that the population is nearly 7 MIL and growing, I would say a lot of people still desire to move here.

ETA: The Metro Area had just over 1 million people in the early 90's. That shows how much it has grown in the last 35 years.

New Orleans is a complete shithole but is still somewhat holding on to (in spite on its leadership) its IT factor. Culture or whatever you want to call it. Atlanta has never had it.

That’s why Atlanta has kicked our arse economically since the 60s

Traffic is so bad everywhere in Atlanta, if some place you want to visit isn't within a mile of your place, you might as well drive to Birmingham or Chattanooga

OP probably thinks the Crips drew this on a Saturday night at 3:00 in the morning when in fact a lot of the graffiti around the city is actually art and part of the Street Art Scene the city encourages -- ATLANTA STREET ART MAPS

This is how I know you haven’t been to Atlanta or Nola.

Atlanta is ghetto but if you’ve been to Nola. It’s a complete an utter shitehole.

Atlanta is ten times the city that Nola is. Get real
