The Jaguars and the city of Jacksonville have agreed to a $1.4 billion “stadium of the future” that would keep the franchise in one of the NFL’s smallest markets for another 30 years.
I give it 10-15 years of other stadiums being built w/new bullshite features they won't have and they'll be demanding a new one all over again.

3 years ago he was trying to extort us for 230 million to develop parking lot j for him. He's Tony Sleiman with a few extra 0s on his accounts. Good for themselves, not great for the jax taxpayers.

If you have the capital and the opportunity, an NFL franchise is a can’t miss investment. Maybe the surest thing around.

get what you’re saying but how much revenue does having an NFL team bring to a city? What is the economic impact on St Louis and San Diego and Oakland with their teams leaving?
NFL fans don't pour cash into a city.
Majority of them live close enough to park, tailgate, go to game, then head home.
they aren't like baseball, where they pack downtown all day, people filling hotel rooms from out of state(cardinals have season ticket holders from 23 states). spend cash at eateries, go to local scenic places, etc.
In the report, that local civic progress and pro stadium proponents showed, during them trying to keep the rams, it accidentally showed the City lost money with rams, and now can use the dome and convention center 12 months a year with no worrying about when are home games, and blocking out 5 months of dates. City makes more off the dome with rams gone.

The city of Jacksonville? Why is that in New Orleans the entire state has to pay for the Superdome?

Crazy that billionaire NFL owners expect the cities to foot the bill for their toys.
The multi-billionaire owner of the New Orleans Saints get money statewide in Louisiana!

And if Louisiana tax payers are on the hook, I hope they don’t
They have been since the early 70s! That is NOLAs stadium issue not Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria or any other city.

Shad Khan’s net worth is $12.2 billion.
Still had his Christmas tree up, so not his primary residence, but he’s there often.
ETA: it’s just a nice single family home, nothing to write home about. Didn’t even have a pool. He clearly needs the help with financing the stadium.

Superdome is probably 10 years or less from not being a viable NFL stadium (in their eyes re revenue) unless something changes
Hopefully they will move to San Antonio

I bet NFL brings more road team fans for each game than MLB or NBA

Because your state government pushed to get it built 50 years ago.
