It sounds like you’re blaming Joe Biden for Red Lobster’s downfall.

Here in reality the restaurant industry is on pace to set records this year in volume and sales… breaking last year’s records.

In other words, passing the blame ignores the real issues with Red Lobster, as detailed in the responses here.

If Joe Biden is responsible for shutting down Red Lobster he has done the nation a massive favor that years of declining quality, service and ambience has thus far failed to accomplish. I don't know that Red Lobster was ever really that good....I think it was more about location and bringing "seafood" to areas where fresh seafood was scarce...but for at least 10 years its basically been a high-priced Captain D's. Probably closer to 20 years.

Red Lobster is not alone...there are a lot of chains which were more or less iconic prior to 2020 (but headed downhill even before that) which are not going to be around much longer. Outback, Cracker Barrel, Applebees and all the similar ones are all struggling and won't survive much longer on any kind of scale like they once did. Fastfood places are also taking it on the chin.

Chili’s is trying really hard to buck this trend with legacy chains, and stay relevant.

Red Lobster, Fridays, and others have been gobbled up by private equity, just trying to milk dying cows.

Beaumont Texas in 1994?

Red Lobster was fine dining. It was all Beaumont had.

The one in Bossier City is gone and they didn't even have the balls to tell their employees. Just a sign on the door.

Red Lobster has been terrible and overpriced for at least 20 or more years.

True, and yet that shitty place still stayed in business.

You can still buy the mix, or find recipes online.

Red Lobster has sucked for a long time. I can't remember the last time we went there. Their demise is long overdue.

That was a Joe’s Crab Shack reference. I totally under thinking it’s about Joe Biden though given it’s about another business closing.

Certain cultures consider it fine dining. The one near me is always packed.
