He's not. At least he has experience @ the SBA. Rispone backing him.

He has been making appearances at Catholic school fairs, business awards, etc...He at least prwtends to care about white residents in EBR

Pretends being the key word here.

The guy has played the race card many times in the past. Don't let him fool you.

I do not have a link but have seen it live in action. He was playing the race card in law school on anything he could.

It is apparent the GOP has thrown in the towel on this race. And even if they had not, the GOP could mess up a wet dream. 4 more years of what you know in SWB or possibly 12 of Ted? It is an interesting dilemma for EBR voters. SWB has been so bad.

On St George - Ted has been wholly against it. Now that it looks to be done he is going to attack SWB on it and he is now saying he will work with St George. Of course, he is trying to get elected.

Who are the major players funding James?
Who is Bernhard/Wampold/Enquist backing? Still behind SWB?

Lipsey, mockler and others - he has an impressive list of donors and backers.

Engquist and Charles Landry sticking with SWB. Not sure about Wampold or Bernhard.

He was behind the bill that sought to make the election open to all of EBRP. Nothing matters now because the law is on the side of St. George. It's smart of him to want to play ball even if he's just doing it for votes.

The Sadvocate will be supporting him over Broome.

The only interactions I have with him have been good. He'd be a breath of fresh air.

Personally, I like him had have had good interactions with him as well.

He is smart and hardworking. I think he wins in the competency arena over SWB.

But he is much more to the left in both ideology and temperament than SWB.

Honestly don't know who I will vote for.

I have met and like Ted as well. This means nothing as to how he would govern as mayor if elected. He will more than likely cave to every progressive and/or woke ideal that is popular with socialists.

My hope is that the next mayor isn’t wholly ineffectual like the current one who barely exudes a room temperature personality or wit and where every decision made has to be seen through a virtue signal lens.

I do not get a vote anymore but have interests in the Parish. I understand your reasoning and just hope you will hold him to account with your satire as you have done with SWB if he gets elected.

Looks like it might legitimately be a two person race for Mayor-President. I guess today was the first day to register to run and James and Broome are the only two that signed up this moring.

Advocate - Cliffs Below
quote:

Two candidates brought their campaign fervor to City Hall's steps Wednesday morning, marking the official launch of the race to decide Baton Rouge's next Mayor-President.

With supporters in tow, former state legislator Ted James and incumbent Sharon Weston Broome marched through downtown Baton Rouge to qualify for the Nov. 5 election.

quote:

James arrived at the clerk of court's office first, with friends and family crammed inside to watch the candidate sign papers to register for the election officially.

"I can no longer accept living in a community that has LSU and Southern (University) but we still lose to many of our young people because they've had to choose between opportunity and home," James said in an address on steps outside City Hall.

The Democrat said Baton Rouge was ready "to turn the page of leadership" and that better efforts were needed to unify law enforcement and the community.

quote:

Minutes after James finished remarks, music could be heard outside of City Hall as Broome and about 50 supporters made their way down St. Louis Street in a second-line parade led by a jazz band.

"We certainly have a record to stand on of accomplishments," Broome said after qualifying. "We also have a vision for the future and a plan for the future for what we will accomplish in the next four years."

quote:

As of Wednesday morning, the two Democrats were the only candidates to qualify for the race. Qualifying is open through Friday.

He acts like a younger, smarter version of Kip but politicians are chameleons at times when they get into office.
