Bob Pettit. Why does he not get more love on here?

I never saw him play. Is there anybody on here that did? What was his style? He was mvp of the NBA. Seems like he would be more revered?

I think he is still living here in town.

He posts on the poli board

I would say an overwhelming majority of the board never saw him play.

Now but he would still dominate today. Go watch his film. 6’8” forward that would wear you out shooting from the perimeter and then take your arse inside. His talent fit today’s game really well.

AND, he goes to the baseball games. His seats are somewhere behind the visitors dugout. I saw him at the FL game. Tanks hit 2 HRs back to back, starting with his first AB. When that FL pitcher plunked him between the shoulder blades on his third AB, I thought Bob was going to rush the field!! He came out of his chair so fast, shaking his finger, hollering at that guy, I was a little scared there for a minute.

You can still see what he would do to this league on YouTube. He was deadly from 10-15’.

Second generation of the game… doesn’t correlate any longer with the game. Don’t take anything away, cause those cats could play defense and understand efficiency, just different speed.

Because young people now think the world started when they were born.

One of my early hero star players in the 50s. GREAT rebounder and awesome jump shot. A TRUE all time great!

He banged against Russell and Chamberlain in the 1950’s and 60’s, won an NBA championship and NBA MVP awards.
Considered one of the Top 50 NBA players of all time.
I remember hearing he is the only player in NBA history to average over 20 ppg every season of his entire career.
I think he was an NBA All-Star every year of his career too. Not sure if anyone else did that.
Truly one of the NBA all-time greats.
Probably doesn’t get more attention because so few people on here ever got to see him play- he retired in 1965 which was almost 60 years ago.

I feel the same way about Steve van Buren. He was the Jim Brown of his era.

Because most people on here are of the age where they think Neck and STTDB is a real tradition.

Because no one on here is 105 years old.

You got to love it! Time can take the man out of the competition, but it can't take the competition out of the man.
If you ever played at any level, you have that fire, competitiveness and DONT LIKE LOSING.
It's why I'm always calling all the Mediocrity Accepting Cheerleaders on here weak and effeminate because they make excuses and are "Just Fine" with losing.

Bc I’m sure he’s out of eligibility

ETA: Being the NBA’s first ever MVP probably qualifies the guy as being pretty old.
