Well I stopped at the store to get stuff to turn Monday's ribeye into today's Philly cheesesteak on the Blackstone, but I got home late and started watching the ball game and then I ran out of daylight so here we are.

I've eaten so much shite in my life that others would say "Oh that's gonna get you dire sick". All bullshite.
A while ago I made hamburger helper. I left my meal/cooked beef on counter for 3 days. Came back and finished the rest. Completely fine. My dung smelt fantastic after too.
Think about all the near rotten carcasses that animals eat and they survive.

Perfect chance to see what you’re really made of. Not too long ago wife was out of town and I made beef stroganoff hamburger helper. Accidentally left it out overnight on the stove. Was a bit nervous about it, but polished it off the next day and had no issues.

I mean I can find better brats around here, but it was a weeknight and I typically don't like stopping at multiple stores on my way home from work. I don't mind Johnsonville.

I think if you have a hardened immune system from eating fast food, fried, spicy, Mexican, etc., you won’t even notice.
BUT if you’re some froo froo, vegan, clean eating, yaya girl boy, you will likely die from this.

Based on this thread I just now cooked some brats and are eating them.
Delicious.
Delicious.

My cousin tried this same exact thing with 5 hr old brats and died. Could have been his age. We're not sure

99% chance you will be perfectly fine
1% you'll be dying on the toilet for the next 24 hours
Up to you to decide if the risk is worth it or not but I'd eat them without a second thought can't tell you how many times in college there was a box of leftover pizza from a party the night before sitting out and we'd polish it off never having any issues doing so

I ate raw pork in a salad a few months in SE Asian and was fine. I’m sure you will be too.
I did get deathly ill eating oysters this week that were chilled top and bottom in non potable ice. That wasn’t fun and i know better.

Did you read about RFK’s brain worm from eating pork?
But I’m sure your brats are just fine.

Why would you do that?

Microwave them until they pop and it'll kill the bacteria that may have formed. There is the 4 hour rule. But People leave meat out all the time and are fine.

Being in Wisconsin there is no shortage of exceptional brats.
Brat flexing. Impressive.

Wyoming social media reports the death of 55-year-old Hans Russell, who succumbed to botulism after being conscious but also completely paralyzed for several weeks in a Salt Lake City hospital. His death is blamed on a solo camping trip to Idaho where he consumed a can of soup that was not properly refrigerated.
quote:
Russell’s paralysis and death was said to have trapped him in his own body in that he could not move, and was called a nightmare that began with a can of soup. The outdoor enthusiast, river runner, and guide was diagnosed with Botulism, the rare bacterial infection that undermines the body’s nerves and prevents breathing and paralysis of muscles. It left Russell unable to talk or open his eyes.
You will most likely be fine, but is it worth it for a few dollars worth of sausage?

Test them on the wife and/or kids. If they don't get sick, eat away.

Go ahead and eat them then get back to us.

For mass produced brats opt for a Klements or Usinger before Johnsonville. Better yet, if you have a local place that makes brats that’s the golden ticket.
Yes, Usinger's are miles ahead of those two. And yeah if you're in Wisconsin any meat market within 25 miles is probably better than that even. I just finished off some brats from Miesfeld's in Sheboygan and they were fantastic.

I wasn't thinking clearly .... birthday party with my Thai crew, whiskey was flowing... etc.
I am fairly accustomed to the food in this part of the world, but that combo did me in for 8 hours.

Well it's been a couple days now. I ate them. They were fantastic. Still not dead. So that's good.
