Hard to say I don't like this. I miss the days when the Rose Bowl meant something.

Any lawyer will find holes in this. Jayden Daniels could’ve said he was “injured” for the bowl game and there would be a lawsuit if his NIL wasn’t paid out.
I wish there were better stipulations for those accepting money from a collective rather than those who actually are act in the spirit of what the NIL was supposed to represent.

I don't think that will last long, or at all.

I hope you're wrong. College football needs to pull the reigns in on this NIL shite before destroys the sport.

I don’t really believe this. Who would benefit from this?

If true, an agent may require the NIL contract to pay a premium on the insurance policy protecting the player against catastrophic injury during the bowl game.

Something really needs to be done. The combination of NIL and Transfer Portal are just unchecked free agency. I mean even the so called Professionals have contracts that they have to adhere to if they want to play and get paid. The situation is becoming untenable real fast.

I mean with 12 teams this year in the playoff there will be minimum 8-10 big bowls games( rose bowl being 1) now that mean something, so it’s a step back in the right direction.
That 4 team playoff system ended up a disaster for the other bowl games.

I thought players gave up eligibility once they signed with an agent?

Seems you shouldn't be allowed to negotiate NIL deals prior to signing somewhere. Once there, then you can figure out how to make your money from autographs or advertising etc.

Lawyer, contract negotiator, representative, or whoever handles the contract. Potato potato.

Yep. Best hope is the bowl game will have players competing for the next years NIL money. If you already getting paid what’s the point?
Just the way it is.

Technically that's how it's supposed to work. NIL was never meant to be used as an inducement to go to a certain school. However good luck with the NCAA even attempting to enforce that with courts at every level slapping them around.
