They lived in 3 br 1 bath box’s that were a lot smaller than the average home today. Features like paneled walls, 8 ft ceilings, low roof pitch, and small lots were very common. The features in most apartments today were not in the nicest of neighborhoods in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Young people would love to be able to buy those homes but they are stuck in someone's rental portfolio.

This all coincides with women.

Women buying houses, women controlling education, most women CEO’s ever.

Funny how things have only gotten worse.

I agree with most of your points but what you and most others in the thread have left out is the mass movement of america into a "401k/IRA funded retirement at the end of the rainbow".

This has undoubtedly had some major benefits (lessened employee exposure to pension failures; given employees more flexibility and an ability to move companies/sectors later in their career, increased workforce competition) but it has notably also lead to offshoring and P/E driven business decision which may not be for three best long term.

What both political sides seem to miss is that meaningful work is inherently good for families (notice I didn't say people...people are not building blocks of society, families are). Having a large amount of stable, low-skill labor available to support the need for meaningful work is essential (i doubt any science is proving that aptitude is increasing in subsequent generations).

Who should do this? No good answer there. Gov would only punt it and make it worse. Yet, I think the average consumer can look back 50 to 75 years and see examples of how policies and decisions made to maximize efficiency/productivity have left us worse off as a society. It's almost as if pursuing the freest and most efficient exchange of things within the market may not be the holiest or noblest pursuit of all. Perhaps common standards for morality must be upheld on both sides of an economic agreement for a free market to truly prove beneficial (see China).

To be fair this was said more when BIden hadn’t created 40% inflation.

Wow. This is never the answer. Almost every time, the government is actually the cause of the problem.

Actually research the people you decide to vote for.

You have reached the awakening.

Now what are YOU going to do about it? Continue to worship the phony Ivy League Misleadership Class called the government?

OR you can become the better man physically and mentally. They have become so incestuously inbred & feeble yet a young man agrees to fight the losing battles on their terms. We built this civilization and we can build a better one without those who are focused solely on resource extraction in their octogenarian years.

Video goes on to show that every year we are transferring $1.4 trillion from social security from working aged citizens including the younger to give to the "grandparents" who are the wealthiest generation to have ever existed. This part is r-slurred.

Social Security is means tested to some extent. There are also more olds than there are kids.

And if you cut off social security the olds are going to have to spend the estate and leave nothing to their heirs. Not to mention die with excess debt in a lot of cases, which will drive up borrowing costs for everyone.

Imagine laying out all these problems young people face today but being ignorant enough to not understand the solution you think will solve those problems is the source that created them, and created them on purpose.

1. Boomers took their economic prosperity for granted
2. They have held on to their positions too long
3. They promoted Government expansion.
4. The culture went to crap under their leadership
5. They raised the weakest generation
6. ???

There’s a real chance the housing market crashes or at least sees a major correction in 5-10 years.

And home ownership is overrated in American culture, especially nowadays. It’s sometimes better to avoid a potential money pit, and stay mobile when you’re younger (or any age for that matter).

Yep. And I'm sure I'll end up losing my arse in property value when that happens.
Fiance and I already talked about it. Assuming this doesn't happen for 5 years, we'd buy a house or condo after the prices fall as a hedge.

What sort of Marxist tripe is this?

The (as reasonably free as we can make it) market will sort itself out.

Marxism is a recipe for mass murder and tyranny.

Every time.

This bullshite ends any logical discussion.

If congress wasn’t stealing SS money from the taxpayers to start then congress wouldn’t be passing anything to SS.

it's not wrong. It's exactly how I did it. I worked for years before I could afford a home. I lived in an apartment, and then a mobile home while I saved for the down payment.

Lol

Telling people to live in a trailer park to save up for likely a shitty starter home is your response to a hyper inflated housing market
