A roofing company inspected my roof, specifically to look at fans, vents, lead jacks, etc. he found hail damage. He took pictures, and we filed a claim. The adjuster wnt up on the roof with the roofing company guy once... Then later came back to take more pictures. Apparently... Now we don't have hail damage. He surly didn't say that when the roofer was here drawing chalk circles on the roof.
Anyone deal with this before. I know I can file an appeal. Any success stratagies or past est experiences would be appreciated

Well the roofer wants the damage so he gets the job.
The insurance company doesn't want to pay.
Probably need to get a 3rd party estimate, a 2nd roofing company and file an appeal.
There's "damage" and then there's needs to be replaced damaged. If your vents just have some dents they really don't need replaced. If your roof took damage that diminishes its value drastically or dimishes its ability to protect your house, then it needs the work.
Your other option is to fix it on your own dime without insurance...

Roofers are right there with ambulance chasing attorneys.

When did the hail damage your roof?
Insurance companies have started a 12 month expiration to file a hail claim.
And they know when the hail storms come through. So if the storm was 13 months ago, your roofer isn't going to be able to help you file the claim.

Same exact thing happened to me and here is how it played out.
I submitted a claim in Feb 2023 for hail damage. Roofer got on my roof and circled a bunch of "hail damage." Third Party adjuster came out and my roofer guy did not. A week later, my claim was denied. I appealed and my claim was then denied again. I did not go the route of getting a public adjuster. I just thought I was going to have to come out of pocket for an entire roof because I needed one bad (25 year old roof).
Fast forward to early Feb 2024, and my next-door neighbor is getting a new roof, so I went over to ask him if insurance paid for it, and he said yes. I was blown away that his insurance approved him and mine was denied. Didnt make sense to me. So I used his company to try again. This time the roofer said I had a better shot at getting a full replacement from wind damage. I just told him to go for it. Roofer came out with third party adjuster and the next day I get a phone call saying my first check for $15,000 was on its way...

When did the hail happen?
How large was the hail?
How old is your roof?
Hail typically needs to be larger than a quarter in size to damage a shingle less than 12 years in age in South Louisiana.

Don't use your insurance unless there is actual damage to your home. Too many times and they will cancel you and you will have a difficult tine getting new insurance

I had SF up until the last month or so. A roofer came through our neighborhood and a guy 2 houses down gets a new roof through USAA. He inspects mine and says we should have enough damage for a claim (recent hail storm in AP). SF comes out and says damage is less than deductible. Roofer suggested taking a shingle off of the roof and sending it out for testing to see if the same shingles are still manufactured (I guess some sort of loophole). I told him no and have since acquired USAA. SF is a joke.
I made a claim with SF after Ida because my entire fence fell down. The SF adjuster told me they wouldn't give me replacement money for the fence because it was older than 3 years old. I said so I need to replace my fence every 3 years to be fully covered? Insurance sucks.
Also, if you have access to USAA I highly suggest trying to acquire it. I thought at first that you needed to have a living parent/grandparent veteran who had USAA in order to qualify for it. Turns out you only need to call them and establish lineage. Now I have it and all of my children have access to it and so will their children and so on and so forth.

You need a significant amount of damage from hail to actually compromise the integrity of your roof.
The company won’t definitively call damage “hail damage” because that insinuates a significant hailstorm. It’s the insurance company trying to avoid any conflicts with lawyers who’ll destroy them in litigation if they indicate hail damage and don’t cover it.

Get a 2nd opinion from a reputable local roofing company. Not one that goes around canvassing neighborhoods and knocking on doors after a storm.
If the 2nd roofer also says you have hail damage and the roof should be replaced, send that to the adjuster. If the adjuster still doesn’t approve the new roof, then ask for their supervisor. If that doesn’t work, file a complaint with the state’s Department of Insurance

try a different roofing company. I have a female friend who is good friends with a rep from a roofing company. she got covered for hail damage but there hasn't been a hail storm here for many years. She didn't even own the home the last time there was a hail storm here. they covered 18K minus 1k deductible. standard 3 bedroom 2 bath 60's ranch style home.

I’m not an expert or anything but You can always hire a public adjuster, a professional a-hole to harass and bully the insurance company while you wash your hands of the whole thing. He gets paid a cut of the claim and you get a new roof. It’s a delightful process, full of quality people working together, lol.
I did this successfully in 2020.

My concern is.. When the Adjuster and the roofer were on the roof together...The roofer pointed out the hail damage, along with the fans and jacks....The adjuster didn't say anything... Then he got back on the roof later... And then we didn't have damage....
Any suggestions for a good roofing company? Premier South? anybody?

Depends on what state the residence is in

It is truly amazing at how many roofs have been fraudulently replaced over the last several years. We are all paying for it now. I've seen thousands of hail claims for roof damage from roofers going door to door and homeowners swearing they have hail damage on their 18 yr old roof that has been worn to shite in south LA climate. But we never get anyone calling with auto claims for hail damage to their cars. I know not everyone is parked in a garage. How does the hail know to only land on the roof?

You can have hail damage on your roof, need a new roof, and still not have a valid claim. If you have a 15+ year old roof almost every roofer is going to tell you that you need a new roof, and almost all can find some hail damage. Doesn’t mean that hail has created the need for a new roof.

Insurance policies are not so many pages long so they can tell you what all is covered. They tell you what all is not covered.

You just need to get a re-inspection.
The insurance company will probably pay to replace turbines, vent caps, and a few other things but will most likely will be under your deductible amount. The roofer needs to send in a full estimate/supplement to your insurance company along with pictures showing there is hail damage. That will get your insurance sompany to send out a different adjuster for a 2nd inspection.
If you get denied on your second inspection then you have minimal options. The best is to file a department of insurance claim (you can do this if they deny you a 2nd inspection). The "get a lawyer" advice is just dumb. No lawyer is will be willing to take on that case. It's not worth their time and they would never win anyway.
