A&M vs LSU this week in baseball, just a reminder that LSU needs to hire Nolan Cain

Bleeds P&G and would crawl over glass to return. He only left because he didn’t have a guaranteed job at LSU when A&M offered.
He’s responsible for A&M getting Montgomery in the portal. And anyone who has followed LSU baseball for a while knows what he’s done for LSU baseball.
It’s time to bring him home.

I thought Montgomery had a connection close to CS, that's why he went there
Think it was a former coach of his

This is actually one of the few threads you made that I actually agree with. Cain and the name LSU is what made CPM teams competitive towards the end.
Not speaking of his baseball coaching ability, bc I have no clue. I thought maybe he wasn't needed bc JJ is going to be a heavy recruiter, but having another one would be useful.

He was also recruiting coordinator when LSU had players like Hal Hughes and a lineup full of 5’6” 160lbs singles hitters

You mean Coach Wave the runner home no matter what, only to be thrown out nearly every single time?

hes responsible for alot of the young talent A&M has and a main reason Laviolette flipped from LSU. montgomery went to A&M for a number of reasons, none of which had much to do with cain.

Can he be a pitching coach?

Could they, though?
Cain became the recruiting coordinator after the 2016 season so let's look at 2017 and beyond. Their best hitting was the first year under Cain, which should be the least impactful. It is also the only season the team batting average was better than this season's though the OBP, RPG, and RBI/Game were still significantly worse than this season. Typical nonsense tRant take
2017 - 0.289 BA, 0.384 OBP, 6.69 runs/game, 6.22 RBI/game
2018 - 0.283 BA, 0.366 OBP, 5.88 runs/game, 5.48 RBI/game
2019 - 0.273 BA, 0.358 OBP, 6.62 runs/game, 6.03 RBI/game
2020 - 0.253 BA, 0.358 OBP, 5.71 runs/game, 5.24 RBI/game
2021 - 0.273 BA, 0.361 OBP, 6.57 runs/game, 6.1 RBI/game
2022 - 0.289 BA, 0.404 OBP, 8.11 runs/game, 7.69 RBI/game
2023 - 0.308 BA, 0.432 OBP, 8.93 runs/game, 8.2 RBI/game
2024 - 0.288 BA, 0.405 OBP, 7.3 runs/game, 6.72 RBI/game

Cain will probably be a head coach somewhere next year. He has done an excellent job in recruiting for A&M. Totally nailed the transfer portal, which will make him very attractive to a team looking to retool quickly.

This year's roster based on who they committed to:
Nolan Cain 20
Jay Johnson 4 (the periods of time when there was no RC)
Dan Fitzgerald 11
Josh Jordan 9

I like your recommendation for when Jordan eventually gets a HC job. James Ramsey from Georgia Tech.
