Tulane University officials moved to close down the pro-Palestinian encampment on its Uptown campus, seeking the assistance of New Orleans police and forcing out the demonstrators in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday.
Fourteen demonstrators — eight women and six men — were arrested after the New Orleans Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and Tulane University police dispersed the crowd beginning at about 3:00 a.m.
The police action came two days after pro-Palestinian demonstrators, echoing much larger protests at Columbia University and on other U.S. college campuses, pitched tents on the lawn in front of Tulane's Gibson Hall, surrounded them by linking arms in a human chain and demanded that the administration divest from Israel and issue a call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Videos posted online by WDSU-TV showed dozens of law-enforcement personnel, some wearing body armor, surrounding the encampment early Wednesday. As the small group of demonstrators still in the camp banged on a drum and chanted “we don’t need no riot gear” a Tulane police officer on a loudspeaker told the demonstrators that they were trespassing and needed to leave.
Police appeared to individually arrest the demonstrators who refused to leave, the video showed, then formed a line and pushed the remaining people onto and past the St. Charles Avenue neutral ground.
When the demonstrators remaining on the neutral ground refused to leave, police arrested them. The encampment was cleared by 4:30 a.m., according to officials, who said Tulane administrators were not present during the dispersal.

Will Jason Williams or the Louisiana Attorney General handle these cases?
It would make a difference....

Only two were students, 12 were not affiliated with the school whatsoever…
And I’m sure most other schools are the same way.

Were the Jewish American Princesses who mainly attend the school to have a BBC buffet protesting in favor of Palestine?

Maybe I missed it during my many perusings of Constitutional literature, but I never saw nomenclature specifically allowing the illegal occupation of public or private property.
But, you know, that's just me. Maybe my eyesight is bad.
Funny though, how these protests are being so heavily cracked down upon now, when rioters were burning entire cities just four years ago and it was being condoned and encouraged. Can you blame these protestors for being confused? They simply haven't figured out that you're only allowed to misbehavior in neo-anarchist fashion when your actions make a Conservative leader look bad.

Most of these idiots are too scared to show their faces! If you're okay and proud about what you're doing, how about let the world know who you are?

Do they get a bonus if they get arrested?

You Lefties will cheer the arrest and years long political persecution of every conservative within a two hundred mile radius of Washington on 6 January, and then simultaneously cheer the destruction of American cities by BLM in 2020 and now the anti-American, antisemitic anti-Israel riots of 2024 with just as much vigor. Then when conservatives push back against these clearly left-wing backed, revolutionary “protests”, you suddenly want to cry about free speech, and try to poke us in the eye with our dearly held values despite having no TRUE values of your own, other than your allegiance to revolutionary politics.
Guess what – we’re on to your bullshite games now, and we know that you don’t value free speech one single iota unless it pushes your own ideological socialist vision, so you can frick right off.

This should always be called "pro-terrorist."

You have the right to say what you want. You also have the right to suffer the consequences of what you said. Too many people seem to forget that part.

good point, because no one is actually pro-Palestinian except for other Palestinians. even their own Arab and Muslim neighbors despise them. they have traditionally been a very useful tool for anti-State of Israel Arabs in the ME (and some in the US) and now they are a very useful tool for the cultural Marxists - but NONE of them really give a shite about the Palestinians.

yeah that's the same logic the cancel-culturers love to use to justify their actions. let's not go down that road. besides, that's not what the issue is here. these protests, riots, encampments, etc, arent being shut down as a consequence to words that are being said. they are being shut down because they're trespassing, occupying private and public areas, restricting freedom of movement, and damaging property, among a myriad of other crimes.
