A US man has extended his record for most McDonald's Big Macs eaten in a lifetime to more than 34,000.

Don Gorske, 70, first gained the Guinness World Records title in 1999 and has now extended his record after eating 728 more Big Macs in 2023, according to the record-keeping company.

He used to consume nine Big Macs daily but has now cut it down to two — one for lunch and one for dinner.

In order to maintain his health, he doesn't eat french fries and walks six miles a day.

"Many people thought I'd be dead by now, but instead, I've been a record holder for my 24th year — one of Guinness World Records' longer-running record holders, so that's pretty cool to me," he said.

Gorske said that despite eating the burgers for over 50 years, he still relishes each one.

"People who have watched me eating a Big Mac often comment that I look like I'm eating one for the very first time," he said.

Gorske, a retired prison officer from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, ate his first Big Mac in 1972 and immediately knew how much he liked them.

"In that moment, I said: 'I'm going to probably eat these for the rest of my life.' I threw the cartons in the back seat and started counting them from day one," he said.

He has kept the receipts and containers of every burger he has eaten.

Out of all the ways to have the world remember you, why choose this? I just don’t get it

I hope he has a bidet. Idk what that much McDonald’s would do to some stomach but it can’t be good.

He must have a whole storage unit full. You’d think the receipts would be enough

Well after 34000 Big Macs I'm glad he's now concerned about his health.

On the opposite end of that spectrum is my Pops.

He once got snowed/iced in at work along with an almost complete crew of coworkers. That ice lingered for several days, and the plant roads were a skating rink. There was a McDonald's around a quarter mile from the gate. At the time there were only a couple options and McDonald's was the only one open. The company fed them Big Macs and fries three times a day.

Pops never touched another Big Mac, and I don't recall ever seeing him eat McDonald's period, for the rest of his life.

I guess it is notable, though, that he didn't make 70 years old. So, maybe there really is something to a Big Mac diet.

Big macs aren't the issue.

Its the fried french fries and routte 44 coke that most get that tack on calories

Big Macs

Fun fact a Big Mac is essentially a salad with 2 10:1 beef patties, special sauce (thousand island dressing), lettuce, onion, pickles, and bread if toasted right is a fancy crouton with sesame seeds.

It had less calories than some salads when McDonald’s had fancy Paul Newman salads in the early 2000’s.

He’s still waiting to collect the first free ice cream McDonald’s promised for every Big Mac he ever ate.

I just cant imagine never getting tired of eating the same thing every day. I love food and can’t imagine not enjoying trying all types of dishes and sticking basically to just one

His health isn’t surprising though. Some people just have good genetics. But it says he walks 6 miles a day. If you exercise regularly you can eat whatever you want.
