The Los Angeles Angels placed Anthony Rendon on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left hamstring strain, adding another chapter to the third baseman's checkered medical history with the team.

Rendon, 33, came up limping after legging out an infield hit to open the Angels' game against the host Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.

He left the game, with his single raising his batting average to .267 with no home runs, three RBIs and three stolen bases in 19 games. Rendon opened the season by going 0-for-19 in five games before batting .357 (20-for-56) over his past 14 games.

This guy has been a disaster signing for that organization.

What’s funny is after his abysmal start to the season he was actually playing really well over the last week or 2

Seems like it’s a never ending cycle of

-Gets injured
-Sucks for a while when he returns from injury
-Gets on a hot streak
-Gets injured

-Patrick Corbin: 6/$140M
-Anthony Rendon: 7/$245M

And Boras is wondering why he can't get people signed

It seems like more and more front offices are waking up to how much they actually get screwed by signing a Boras client to one of these mega deals. You can probably count on one hand how many of them actually work out for the teams.

Also, the Braves and Dodgers having so much success over the last few years has probably hurt him. The Braves don't have a single Boras client on their 40 man roster, and the Dodgers only have 1, IIRC, and it isn't someone signed long term.

If you knew him you could have predicted this with ease. I don’t mean this in a negative way. Quite the opposite actually. But he doesn’t give one frick about anything. He’s content as hell and I don’t think there’s anything he couldn’t do without.

Going nowhere. He's probably resigned to his fate within the organization.

Used to love to watch him at Rice. Would have never projected he’s become what he’s become

The first guy retired due to thoracic outlet syndrome, the second dude sucks arse, and the third guy just doesn't give a shite.

frick Scott Boras and his overly ostentatious contracts.

He's made of glass. Angels keep whiffing spending big dollars on FA's.
