Of the 12 cities with longest days on market, 3 are in Louisiana.

1. Lafayette
5. New Orleans
12. Baton Rouge

Who knew crippling inflation and 7+% 30 year rates would impact the house market?

Craziness, I tell you.

people don't understand how to make low ball offers on properties that have been sitting for a while.

I'm feeling it for sure. Coming up on 3 weeks on the market, 0 offers.

And we are moving to Utah where houses go in the blink of an eye. Very frustrating.

Nobody told Youngsville and Broussard. I had no idea we had enough people with the funding to support these neighborhoods full of $350-400K houses popping up every other week. DSLD has bought enough of Youngsville that I'm surprised they haven't acquired naming rights yet.

Cape Coral, FL is going to get way worse before it gets better with the Ian damage, increased insurances rates if you can get insurance, crazy number of houses on the market and relaxed codes for rebuilds and rehabs due to the number of people that can't afford the work.

First it was the schools. Then it was the infrastructure. Now it’s the insurance prices. Highway robbery.

How much will they continue to do to drive good normal people out? It’s like they don’t want a middle class.

This is a crock!

Lafayette

Median days on the market in March: 69 (tie)

Median home list price in March: $259,250
--

So if no new inventory came on the market, all would be sold in 69 Days.

That sounds like a sellers market to me.

I don’t buy into these clickbait lists. Another one from a few weeks ago had Houma/Thibodaux as the slowest. I didn’t click the link, but it’s a good chance the data is at least two years old and from a time when South LA was reeling from storms and the tail end of the pandemic. Half the homes for sale had damage. Of course they didn’t sell in 2 days.

Nothing is moving in my neighborhood.... one of the nicer ones in South Shreveport almost to Stonewall. Some great houses but prices are insane...couple that with insane interest rates and I don't blame anyone for not buying right now
