I still own my home on the side of Cheyenne Mountain and plan to spend my summers there when I retire in 2-years since the snow is relentless in the winter at times. And F**k that B, I'm giving up a lot to get that home in the divorce because I love the home and the view.
I miss the beach, but the redneck tourists whenever I go is so unappealing.
My vote is both, but you have to find the right spot for each. Play your cards right when you are young so you can have the best of both worlds later in life.

I would take the mountains over the panhandle. I'd take somewhere like Martha's Vineyard or Cape Cod over both.

Mountain, easily, especially if it's on some sort of water for fishing. Seems every time my family goes on a beach trip we spend more time in the pool area than on the beach.

They would both have a nice view.
I might go with mountain so I don't have to worry about hurricanes.

I faced that choice in 2013, and I went for the Rocky Mountains. We’ve had it 11 years and we love it.

Mountain…spent a week in Breckenridge last June escaping the hellish Texas heat…100% a beach can go frick itself.

Give me a SoCal beach house over a mountain house.

Mountain house. I am DONE with beach houses.
Insurance on them are insane on the Gulf Coast.
