If you can’t afford to take your family out for popcorn shrimp and cheddar biscuits something is seriously wrong with your budget strategy.
I don't go to Red Lobster, we have our own localized seafood places that are better than them. The people who actually go to Red Lobster and enjoy it don't have the spending power that they use to with this recent inflation.

Think I have had Red Lobster once in my life

Used to be a higher end restaurant around here. My dad took me to dinner when I got my first real job out of college 30 years ago. Now it’s a ghetto joint.

Agreed but spending power is most certainly a factor. People will cut out eating at these types of establishments first.
This was happening long before the CARES act created the rapid inflation you are seeing now.
Been documented since the mid teens.

Mighty crab, fiery crab, hunter crab, Shane’s (Shreveport), Ralph and kacoos (bossier) and other places have eclipsed red lobster except for those cheddar bay biscuits

People who can’t find anything they’re willing to eat at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc., are just being unreasonable.

Alternative explanation: red lobster is awful
How’d it avoid BK for 56 years I’d that’s the full explanation.
My wife and I had a modest lunch today at a casual restaurant in a low cost of living town and caught ourselves thinking out $20 chicken entrees (manicotti and Caesar salad) were reasonably priced. Then realized we’ve been conditioned quickly. The average worker can’t afford shite even with mounting cc debt.

NOOOO!!! Metairie losing its location was a death knell for good seafood in the NOLA area.
If there's better seafood anywhere in the state of Louisiana, point it out.
Upvote en route.

A few do, most do not have the same spending power.

Is this even worth a response?

75% of the country can't afford to live, but we dominated flu season that one year for 10 trillion dollars

Of course these SEC filings and corporate speak will never ever just admit their products are crap.

You can buy the mix in the grocery store now
Yes you can! Made some the other day out of the box 10/10 and only 3 ingredients.

Part of the problem is that former Red Lobster President Edna Morris misjudged how much customers would eat during a $22.99 all-you-can-eat crab promotion. Red Lobster never recovered from that disastrous idea and lost an absolute fortune because of it.
Customers went back on average 4 times to fill up their plates. Red Lobster could withstand 2 times but lost money on #3 and the #4 refill cost the restaurant roughly $17 dollars every time someone ordered the all you can eat crab promotion.

I've eaten at Red Lobster a couple of times. The food wasn't awful and some items on my plate were frozen seafood that you can buy at a local grocery store. I ordered a shrimp platter and some of the shrimp you could easily tell were frozen shrimp. The small fried shrimp on the platter were definitely frozen at one time. Frozen fried shrimp doesn't taste anything like fresh fried shrimp. I was amazed at the number of people that were eating there. I also found that the items on the menu were expensive. I ate most of the food on my plate but I couldn't understand how that place stayed in business due to the fact that it was serving seafood that were frozen. I thought while driving home, if I was going to pay that amount of money for frozen seafood Baton Rouge has plenty of seafood restaurants that are much better than Red Lobster. I never went back there but every time I passed by RL their parking lot was always full.
