I have a 2017 Nissan Rogue with 45,000 miles on it and I have yet to get a new battery.

One in my truck is going on 8+ years, Diehard Platinum AGM. One in my work vehicle is almost 6, Motorcraft. Temperature and deep cycling kills auto batteries. AGM batteries are worth the premium but with any battery in a vehicle made in the last 10 years you need to maintain it more due to parasitic draw by extra electronics. I've hardwired battery tenders into both of mine, plug them in anytime I know one of them will go more than a few days without driving.

3-5 years depending on the elements.

My experience is 2-3 years on the battery that’s already in the car I purchased; 4-5 years for the ones I buy

Also, why doesn’t the battery warning light work in vehicles?
In my experiences, the battery light is usually an indicator that something is wrong with the alternator.

so you get about 2 1/2 years on a battery
I’d say that’s accurate. For the amount of traveling I have done in my truck, I’d say that’s pretty good

You just screwed yourself....

The average battery is intended to last 3-5 years.
Batteries haven't gotten worse, it's all of the electronics on cars today that lead to a shorter life.
The best way to maintain your battery and have it last the longest is to plug it up to a battery tender which keeps it fully charged.

They are making them lighter in some cases, or specing the smallest Group size they can get away with. F150's today use a slightly smaller H6 battery vs Group 65's while having way more demand from the electronics. Lot of modern vehicles have additional VRSLA batteries just to handle the extra load.
