You people are nuts.
Jay recruited the best players by every metric.
These guys have just underperformed and underwhelmed.

What’s your point?
Posted on 4/12/24 at 10:09 pm to Covingtontiger77
Just goes to show you that player rankings is a very inaccurate science.

At some point players have to play
Jay brought in the top talent and these guys just suck right now.
Not his fault.

So these guys develop on their own?
Posted on 4/12/24 at 10:10 pm to Covingtontiger77
This also mentions several guys out with injury. Pretty pointless thread.

You do realize it’s more than just recruiting a top class? That’s just the start. Players still need to be developed. Coaches and players have fallen straight on their faces this year.

He has no point, just another overly emotional weirdo with nothing better to do than start a thread about something meaningless

This is his fault. He’s the head coach.

Ed O has highly ranked classes too. Were you simping for him when his team sucked arse a year after winning the title?
Posted on 4/12/24 at 10:15 pm to Covingtontiger77
Remember the players last year who were so awesome and champions….
…they weren’t very good 3 years prior either. Didn’t turn it on until the regional as a 3 seed.
Settle down.

What’s the point of this thread? Guys were ranked high but have not developed into SEC players?

I’m not ready to jump on the “fire Jay” train by any means, but you do realize there is a coaching component to being a head coach?

Half of the guys you listed don’t even play for LSU so what’s your point?

Yes it is his fault. Everything is his fault or to his credit. He is the head coach. The buck stops at his desk.
Now, even though that is true, and Jay has failed to deliver this season so far, he still gets a grade of “A” for his three years in Baton Rouge. This season has cost him the plus sign, though.

At what point does production outweigh projections. It appears he and the recruiting services missed on the majority of these dudes

And mentions a whole lot of top prospects that never made it to campus because of the MLB draft.
Snelling (LHP), Siravo (RHP), Toman (3B), Romero (SS), Crawford (OF), Misiorowski (RHP) and Kennedy (LHP) never made it to campus; Shores (RHP) and Noot (RHP) had Tommy John surgery; and Applebey (RHP) was injured his only year on campus then transferred.
That is a whole lot of top end pitching that was not available this year that necessitated grabbing portal guys, many of whom have been less than stellar in SEC play. Coincidence?

Sounds like a lot of shitty development and coaching
