Where does edey go in the draft?

I’ve heard he’s not a high draft pick but I really don’t follow the nba draft.

I think he made himself some money last night. Late lotto if I had to guess. Could also see him fall to the 2nd round just as easily though.

He’s been projected in the 18-25 range for the last couple of months.

I haven't watched much of Purdue. I watched maybe 10-15 minutes of the game last night. Is he worth anything further than 7ft from the rim? I mean he's a rim protector at 7'4, but is he useful for anything else? He didn't appear to be to me. Looks like a back to the basket rim protector. no threat outside of the paint.

There is a spot for him and Klingan probably mid to late first round
Wembayanna might actually change some of the perceptions on what you can do with bigs these days

Wenbanyama is an athletic freak, who can space the floor with outside shooting. He’s not souly a back to the basket big like Edey is. Wemby is also a defensive savant. Edey and Wemby couldn’t be any more different as players. Edey has a place in the NBA, but comparing Wemby to Edey just because of the height, Is way off I think.

According to this mock draft from a couple of weeks ago, he is an early 2nd round pick.

Clingan will go top 5, maybe top 3. This class is super weak

This. From what I've seen of Edey.

One of the weakest in a while supposedly

The first round of the NBA draft is FULL of players every year that never amount to shite. High risk, high reward in this draft. I think Edey has a much higher floor than a lot of folks that will be drafted after #15-20. He's high floor/low ceiling.
I see a spot for him as a solid role player coming off the bench for years in the NBA, but never more than that. But that is still better than what 50% of the draftees will become.

Edey on the Heat would be perfect honestly.

Agree. He needs to develop an outside shot. Also IDK if his feet are quick enough to guard NBA bigs on the perimeter. Right now at worse he is a practice squad player. At best he gets a few minuets a game. Until he gets better NBA bigs that shoot a high parentage from outside will dominate him.

Edey on the Heat
Idk if he could pass their conditioning test at his size
He uses his size and weight well. If he gets to the Heat he will probably drop a good amount of weight.

Wemby runs like a gazelle and shoots 3s.
There’s no comparison to Edey other than they’re both 7’4”.
Edey is slow. He runs like a Neanderthal. Has no perimeter shooting.
He really doesn’t have an NBA future. He’ll be a late first, early 2nd and out of the NBA in less than a few years.
He’s nowhere near Wemby skillsket. A better comparison would be a better Tacko Fall

He has pretty good stamina and played a ton of minutes in the tournament without having to sub out. I think his sub out yesterday was the first sub in 3 games?
When the NBA playoffs start and the game slows down and fouls aren't really called, I think he could be a big problem with Bam.

100% he's too slow to be a prominent paint player in the NBA
